The Big Ten has lost a legend and icon. Ohio State has lost an alumnus and friends (6).” This was said before the big showdown, Bo died the day before the number 1 Ohio State and number 2 Michigan battled, so they took a moment of silence for him rivalries might be intense but the two teams still
It was hard to believe I was headed to University of Michigan to watch the Wolverines play Akron in football. It was my first time going to the Big House. Our tickets came late, we had to print off four copies to get in . We got there so early we tailgated with some students. Then went to buffalo wild wings for drinks and to use the bathroom before we went in the stadium.
My roommate and I teased them by calling our mothers hyper and childish. I haven’t seen my mother so giddy in a long time, so I was amused. Point after point, Ole Miss battled it out, winning the first game. Then the second game went around, and I
O is for Oregon. Two years ago I got to go to Oregon with my family. It took us 3 days in total to get there because we drove. We went through Washington to get to Oregon. We went to Oregon because my uncle lives there.
Around thanksgiving time last year, my grandpa and grandma told my family that we would be going on a trip to the Bahamas. Even better was we were going to the Battle For Atlantis Basketball tournament. This year at the tournament the Wisconsin Badgers were playing. The Wisconsin Badgers are my favorite team. I brought along an autograph ball for the players to sign.
O-Oklahoma Oklahoma is the place I was born yet the only time I was ever there was maybe the first two to three months of my life I don’t remember obviously. I’ve always wondered what it’s like there. One day I hope to go there because I fell in love with a lot of their sports teams and I want to meet my biological brother. My favorite sports teams in Oklahoma are the Oklahoma City Thunder of the NBA, and the colleges of Oklahoma State (The Cowboys), Oklahoma (The Sooners), and Tulsa (The Golden Hurricanes). I started paying attention to the NBA when my brother Scott bought NBA 2k11 I played with every team and found myself playing with the Thunder the most, because I loved playing with Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook.
I can not remember a year where I was as excited for the Vikings season and then this goes and happens. Twenty minutes into practice on Tuesday Teddy Bridgewater took a snap from under center and as he was dropping back to pass he screamed in agony and went down. He suffered some sort of non contact knee injury. Everybody in the building could tell how serious the injury was by the reaction of the players, some cursed, some threw helmets, and some even prayed.
In early September my family and I took a trip up to State College, Pennsylvania for the Rutgers Penn State game. Even though it was not the outcome I wanted for my Scarlet Knights, we still had a great time. Just being there for only a couple minutes, I quickly learned that when you travel for an away game with your desired sports team, you are going to feel like the minority. Kickoff was at eight o’clock in the evening, so that meant my day started at eleven in the morning in “Happy Valley.”
I could no longer afford to pay my cell phone bill because I had ran out of funds. Unfortunately, my phone had been turned off, After one month, I knew my family started to worry about me so I called one of my aunt to let her know I was fine. She said she was very worried and she even called campus safety and they told her to email me. Then, she offered to pay my phone bill so that my line could be turn on, I told her not to bothered because my phone is broken.
It was an early December morning. The roads were slick with a thin layer of ice. The air was crisp with a winter chill and there was a slight drizzle falling from the sky. I was riding in my dad’s truck to my grandma’s, who babysat me while my parents were at work. My little brother Kaden was also with us.
I was having so much fun with the cold wind on my cheeks and was laughing the whole way down until I got some snow in my eyes that limited my vision. I began to panic which kept me from hearing my mom saying, “ JUMP!!! JUMP!!! ” I was clueless to the fact that I was headed for a tree. Down the hill I went and straight into the tree.
Not the little cute snowflakes you see on TV while watching your favorite holiday movies, but lots of snow. It was the kind of snow that is unimaginable at least to me, at that time of my life. I have never seen it snow before, and as the cold white snow blows along the road and sticks to the window I holler oh my God.
The ice cold snow melts onto my face, I laugh at myself and hope to god the people around me didn’t see that. No one was paying attention to me they all had this type of confidence and excitement to learn and grow. I stood back up and headed down the hill with all force, not knowing how to turn I abruptly put my snowboard on healedge and slammed to a stop. Little did I know I was already halfway down the hill.
but I never saw it with own eyes until I came to America. I remember my first snow, the ground was covered in white snow. It was so beautiful to watch the snowflakes fall from the sky. At first the cold weather bothered me lot but it doesn’t anymore.
The day was just after my brother’s birthday and we had just finished celebrating his birthday. My brother was more surprised, however, by the amount of snow that covered the yards outside. We both awoke to a sight much more impressive than that of December, a white landscape obscuring everything laying on the ground, including the cars. My brother and I changed faster than firemen getting ready for a rescue, as we ran outside to see the fascinating snow that surrounded our neighborhood.
