Hello again, I am so sorry I’ve emailed you so many times but I would really really like to meet one on one with Gerardo. My initial meeting that was scheduled for February 14th, I had to cancel due to being very sick and not wanting to spread it to him or his family. Are there any open slots? God bless, Rachal Adent
Trinity Lutheran Church. Any day, any activity. I am a participant, a student, a leader, a pioneer. Sunday mornings are spent either worshipping with my family in Centennial Hall, a large gymnasium used for our contemporary services, or with other high schoolers, learning about life values and their connection to our faith. During this time, I listen.
Basic Belief Assignment I describe a belief as an idea that is thought to be true by a person. Beliefs have the potential to influence and determine what a person values. Religion is a main factor that defines a person’s beliefs. It is known that people share common beliefs within the same religion.
I have been doing some thinking about our conversation a few days ago and have concluded that I will take you up on the offer! I just sold my old bike and now have some money left over that I can use to pay for those seminars. I am going to see how soon I can get this done, I am going to look at the dates and send my form in. I will keep you posted on the status of things as they get processed.
As the world continues to evolve and change some things remain constant, including spirituality and religion. For centuries the belief in a higher power has guided man through the darkness darkest of times and has allowed us to evolve industrially as well as spiritually. Identifying spirituality, what it means to us, and our purpose is a lifelong project. Many fall short of identifying their true purpose while here on Earth, leaving the known world a source or dread and fret. For those that believe, life seems a bit more bearable, tolerable.
Part One – Christian Worldview In today’s world it is easy to become enchanted by worldly things. The deceptions that Christian’s allow themselves to believe (i.e. just this once, it’s not going to hurt anyone, I can handle it, I can stop whenever I want, etc.) come directly from Satan. There was a time when hearing a curse word or seeing too much flesh in a movie would be embarrassing; now it appears to be the norm and most Christians do not even bat an eye at such things any more.
Reading Summary – A Buddhism Experience For my Reading Summary assignment, I chose an article from our Week Six readings, “Buddhism; An Introduction,” featured on PBS Online. It is believed that the founder of Buddhism, Siddhartha Gautama, who ultimately created a kind and introspective religion, came from an unlikely family who enjoyed an extravagant lifestyle and whose father was an Indian warrior-king. Guatama lived from approximately 566 to 480 B.C. He sought to understand the true meaning of the world that he lived in only after becoming uninterested with the indulgences of his majestic existence. He set out on a journey, sans the accouterments of his imperial life, and through his experiences of “encountering an old man, an ill man,
“True humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less” – C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity Three years ago, I didn’t want to change the world: I wanted to be rich. Avarice and selfishness motivated me to succeed, and I was flippant in how I lived my life. I was not happy, but I didn’t care. I found my self-worth in what I could achieve, and whom I could impress. Later, I would find myself extricated from this material rut through a relationship with Christ – not a Christian religion.
Everyone religion is not the same, and there are many different religions. Spirituality is seen from many different perspectives it is the connection that we sense from certain feelings, or even experiences. A lot of individuals think religion and spirituality has the same meaning, but they are totally different. A person can have
Growing up Christianity had always been part of my life and there was no question about it. My family was christian and the culture that my parents grew up in was heavily religious. However, I personally never had a true connection to Christ at a young age. To me church was the place I went to answer questions in Sunday School and win prizes for it, and that was how I saw it for a long time. It was hard for me to see it has more than that and from the outside I may have looked like the kid had a true connection with Christ by the way I talked in front of the church when my class presented, or the fact that I was able to answer most if not all the questions correctly.
Did you know that there is numerous species that are endangered and becoming extinct? One terrestrial mammal that is experiencing threats to their extinction are lemurs, this jeopardized spices' is most common in our zoos today then in the wildlife. African islands including Madagascar is their natural habitat, and studies demonstrate that is their only home in the world because the geographical location is isolated. There are different kinds of lemurs and some of the most common ones that we know today are: the ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta) , silky sifaka, mouse lemurs. The scientific name for lemurs is “Lemuroidea”.
Creating my own religion, this task does seem pretty fun. Well my religion would be very similar to the army and sports, it will contain structure, a need to compete/exercise, guidelines on how to treat others, and most of all it will be fun. There will be no reliance on a god/s, no prejudice against others and most of all, history will be made by each individual. And what I mean from that, yes there will be history but each person will be in charge of choosing their own paths in life. There will be no guidelines to follow (except to treat others kindly), just the freedom for one to create their own greatness.
It is you are religious or you are not. What do you think you (the reader) believe in. Are you loyal to one religion. Many teens this generation in America have been growing up to not believe in anything but science. Many people have died because of religion.
“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.” I said as i dutifully made the sign of the cross and picked up my book of hymns. As the organist began playing, I stared at the large golden cross that hung above the altar, its metallic sheen contrasting with the deep green marble. I was baptized as a Catholic, attended a Catholic elementary school and high school, and attended church every Sunday with my family. I made my first reconciliation and received a small silver cross necklace with a tiny peridot in the center.
As a Muslim convert, who has a tragic story of hardship after coming to Islam. This is a very brief idea of my situation and what had happened to me. I have suffered and faced a lot of abuse and insults from my family and community after I became a Muslim. My family is very racist and my sister was involved with white supremacist groups. My story is a long story-
