“Ten Keys to Building Powerful Listening Skills”
I believe I avoid interrupting while someone else is speaking. I can’t, say that I have always, had this skill, but it has become valuable, and resourceful. As the book states, not only is it impolite, to interrupt, but you also, miss what the speaker or your boss, is saying when you interrupt.
When my children started school, and I returned to work, I would try to finish my boss’ sentences. I thought, I knew, what was on her mind, or what she was going to tell me to do. When I found a different job, she took me to her office, and off the clock, we had a talk. She explained to me, that while, I may have been a fair employee, and one who did my job, I needed to not be so obnoxious! She said, I needed to listen more. When someone else, was speaking, I needed to be quiet. That was some of the best advice, I have ever received, and from that time, I have tried my best, to listen, without interruption.

I feel I need, to work on controlling external and internal distractions. The book mentions, moving to an area where you can hear without conflicting noise or distraction. If you have other projects on your mind, put them on the back burner temporarily.
There are certain times and situations, that I have problems with controlling distractions. I know when I study, I have to block everything out, be in a quiet room, to concentrate. I also found, in my last job, that because it was something I had not done before, I would second guess
