No one really thinks a natural disaster so disastrous could happen in a place where millions live. A place where many visit and movies are shot. California is the place, and along with the San Andreas fault. A fault where it could destroy California and kill many. “Mom?” I say I can hear my mom crying in the bedroom, she usually does this on a daily basis but today it is more than usual because my father died on this day. Today marks four years since his death, I still feel guilty for it. I was in the car with my dad when it occurred and I couldn 't do anything to solve it or help him but I still tell myself I could have done something. Wiping my tears I say, “Ok, so mom I will be back in about two hours. I just need to drop off the term paper and then I am going to drop by Zor’s house to talk to him.”
Zor is my best friend since I was born. His uncle and my dad were also best friends so we always went on trips together and had dinners together. In a matter of fact, him and his best friend Aiden are going to California with my mom and I because I thought why not, like the good old times.
It is the next day and we have arrived in California. It is the first time I have ever been in California and it is just as I imagined. Zor and Aiden are meeting us here later because they couldn’t miss classes today. My mom seems so happy, taking pictures, laughing, and smiling. This is the happiest I have ever seen her since the accident.
My mom says enthusiastically, “Hey, we need to take a selfie.”

“Stay still, I have to remove this.” I say as Aiden is refusing to let me
I count down from three and I quickly pull it out. I get my jacket and make a bandage out of it.
“Can you move?” I say
“No.” Aiden says in pain
“We need a couple of people to carry him.” I say bandaging the wound
We are all walking trying to figure out a way of getting out of California. There is no way out, everything is closed. People are fighting over vehicles. Shooting and killing people for vehicles, food, and objects. We all take a break trying to catch our breath.
“We need to keep moving.” My mom says
We are walking trying to find a way out of California, Zor and I are helping Aiden to walk.
My mom stops suddenly and yells, “Run!”
Then we see a cracks behind us getting bigger and bigger. We start to run as fast as we can, Zor and I have to get Aiden out of there. We can not let him die. As I look back I see people falling and dying, this is nothing I have never experienced and I hope it will be the last experience.
Aiden says as he pulls away from us, “Go, I am only slowing you down.”
He collapses to the ground and I stand back, he falls through. Zor tries to get him but I pull him
