This summer my family and I traveled to Colorado for my cousin’s wedding and to experience the mountains. While we were hiking I was able to go on my own and start to climb off the trails. I was able to climb high and get to see all the trees in their vibrant fall colors. The view was stunning compared to at eye-level view. When Jon Krakauer describes the amazing view from standing at the summit of Mount Everest, I was able to remember that moment from my off-trail adventure.

Last year I played basketball for the Bath team and Red Cedar team. In my last game I had 24 points, over 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks. After the game the opposing coach came up to me and asked if I wanted to join an AAU team and at the time I didn’t know what that was. He gave me his number and I learned that AAU was a league for really good basketball players.
As a kid growing up there are encounters that change your perspectives on life and what you need to fulfill in life. Luckily growing up for me was never what some would state a battle. I experienced childhood in a white collar class group of five in the residential community of Mercedes, Tx. As a kid living around there of texas known as the Rio Grande Valley you start to see the battles other individuals look in the group and You end up noticeably appreciative for the things you do have.
As I peer through the thick smoke, reminding myself why I chose to come in the first place, I see a half dead man on the floor- begging for water. We don’t have enough food or clothes. There are very few of us left to fight against the redcoats. Even though on some days we are cheerful, we are starving and freezing. I am wondering if I should re-enlist or go back home.
Pikes Peak This past summer I went on vacation with my aunt’s family to Colorado, and being from iowa, the land of corn and flat ground, we wanted to do all the mountain things you can do in Colorado. one very memorable mountain we visited was Pikes Peak, one of the tallest mountains in Colorado 14,114 thousand feet above sea level. There are two ways you can get to the top of Pikes Peak, you can drive up the side of the mountain, or you can ride the train up the other side, if you ride the train then you can only be on the top for 20 to 30 minutes, but if you drive you can do whatever you want, so we chose to drive up. The drive up was beautiful, even though the road was really windy and made me car sick it was still really cool to see.
After years of waiting and preparing we started on the journey to the west. We made our way to Independence, Missouri to go on the Oregon Trail which was laid by traders and trapers. While there I became familiar with George Wilson who was also a working family man. A lot of families left together making the trail busy and causing jams..
Ramapo Mountain would have been one of the first racially integrated communities in the United States. Sadly, in 1972 the project was rejected. Although the Civil Rights Act had been passed eight years prior, the country as a whole was not yet ready for radical change. My grandfather, the man behind Ramapo Mountain, has always told me that true transformation takes years; and that truism has borne itself out in my high school career. Ninth grade was a particularly difficult year for me, both academically and personally.
Getting down to Nebraska was harsh and the trail was dusty. The children like me had to take care of the animals. Jim, Antonia and myself became really good friends after living next door to each other for a while and we do everything together. When I work, I help my dad to plant and harvest crops and hunt for food. We planted and harvested corn, potatoes, pumpkin, wheat, peas, carrots and tomatoes.
Last summer, I traveled to Yellowstone National Park and it was breathtaking. I remember pulling into the park and just breathing in the smell of pine trees. As we were driving through the lush, green trees two brown bears emerged from the woods and calmly crossed the street. Later, we drove up the mountain and could see the entire park. It was an unforgettable sight, I saw everything from the various mountains to the pines and I could even see Old Faithful.
I had no idea about what I was going to find in Little Rock. First of all, I have been enjoying my groups company, I feel that we’re more close and united after that trip. Therefore, I liked a lot traveling there with them and I also adored the highway. It’s wonderful to admire nature while you are on the road, it reminded me some speedways in Mexico. For me, one of the most interesting places there was High Central.
The drive was almost unbearable, but the thought of spending the week in the snow with family kept me going. It was only a four hour drive, but at 9 years old, it felt like an eternity. The scenery slowly changed from flat land, to rolling hills. The hills were covered in yellow dying grass, but they were still beautiful. Then we started to make the climb.
Hello! Yes I am doing well and had been travelling a lot recently. I am going to Big Bear Lake in CA this weekend with a couple friends. Time to ski! haha
My trip begins with a 4 hour flight from windsor airport to Calgary - AB. Once i have arrived at the airport in calgary, i 'll take a 4 hour drive to Alpine Village Cabin Resort, and travel another 413 km to get there. Once I have arrived at Alpine Village Cabin Resort ill check in and unpack. After i 'm finished unpacking , i 'll go to the General grocery that they have on site to pick up some food . After I have eaten i will take a cab to Jasper SkyTram this is about a 7 min (4.8 km) drive from the cabin.
These moral theories help me figure out what is right versus wrong and who I am and what I believe today in this society. Knowing between right and wrong is a moral foundation for me to practice good ethics. The life I lead reflects the strength of my character. Moral theories that I personally favor are social contract theory, feminist ethics, and virtue ethics. Social contract theory and the political world are one that impacts nearly every aspect of my day to day life.
