Stop! Look around you for a second. What do you see? I see the government in every security camera I walk by. I see the government at every turn in an airport or at a sports game.
The government does this to control its citizens and make sure that they are doing the right thing. The government should not be able to do this to citizens because all people should have at least some sort of freedom to do whatever they want and not have to be controlled by the government all the time. I do think that the government should be able to help the people of the community and be able to watch over them at times but I think it's just wrong to control everything they do. This is referred to as “Consent of the Government” and plays a big role in determining what the government does. In reality, the people run the country and it would be smart for the government to take full recognition of this. The consent of the government states that the authority of a government should depend on the consent of the people (Document C). When the government chooses not to take this into account, there can sometimes be negative consequences. An example of this would be in 1989 in Tiananmen Square in China.

The government is what controls everything in the US. But, the Government is not always correct when making rules and regulations. Not everyone likes the rules that the Government makes, so people form rebellions against the government. Rebellions have been going on since the Government started and still today. Some of these rebellions made people heroes, like Daniel shays’ Rebellion.

Authority should not reside over individuals, but with them. A heart cannot run a body alone. Likewise, a government does not operate a nation by itself. Individuals help maintain the justice of authority.
Ethical theories are ways of telling right from wrong and include guidelines of how to live and act in an ethical way. For example when faced with a difficult situation in your life, you can use ethical theories to assist you in making the right decision. One key theory is consequentialism, which says that an individual’s correct moral response is related to the outcome/ consequence of the act and not its intentions/ motives. Early writers on this theory were Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, a modern writer is Peter Singer. For example Brenda Grey has asked for the asthma specialist to visit her weekly, and to decide if this is necessary the professionals involved have to look at how it would affect her wellbeing.
A social contract is an agreement within a society that benefits the community as a whole. While they are used to help grow a community, social contracts can also be used to discriminate against others. Black people have been dehumanized and mistreated since they arrived on the soil of the now United States because of the social contract of racism. Thomas Jefferson and others formed prejudiced judgments about Black people, including thoughts on their physical appearance, characteristics, and behavior, and used them to support the reasoning for slavery and discrimination. The Black community has made progress in America, but pre-existing thoughts on them, based on racism and stereotypes, have allowed for corrupt systems to fight against this
This is supported by Henry David Thoreauś, ¨Resistance to Government”. Thoreau claims that the government is not just and true to all of the people and this is because there is only a few people in the government. He also claims that he has never seen anything close to a government that caters to all of the people. He disobeyed the government by not paying the tax and by doing this, his actions were noticed. This statement employs that government is not perfect and that people need to disobey the government as this results in their actions being heard.
A country without a government is like a seed without water, the seed or the country does not grow to show its full potential. A government protects citizens from enemies that deprive them of their rights. Thomas Jefferson said, “among there are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, government are instituted among men.” There comes a time where the government makes decisions that have a negative outcome on citizens.
In the united states today the government has so much power than what people may think. They have control over innocent citizens. The kind of power the government has over us has gotten to a limit where now they know where we are at and all of our private information safe on our cell phones. George Orwell’s novel 1984 gives a great example of how the government controls the people. In the novel they tell us about the government from Oceania, and how they control every single second of the citizens’ lives.
The divine command theory, utilitarianism, Kant’s duty defined morality, natural law theory, and Aristotle’s virtue ethics are the five types of ethical theories. The divine command theory states that what is morally right and wrong will be decided by God. Utilitarianism states that “Action “A” is morally right if and only if it produces the greatest amount of overall happiness. Kant’s duty defined morality states that what is important is acting for the sake of producing good consequences, no matter what the act is. Natural law theory states that people should focus on the good and avoid any evil.
Moral theories are theories that help us distinguish between a right or a wrong action. Adequate moral theories help us understand that what we should or shouldn’t do in certain situations. Two of the most famous moral theories are Utilitarianism and Kantianism. According to Utilitarianism, an action is right if only if it out of all the other action gives out the maximum utility. In oppose to that, Kantianism says that an action is right if and only if, in performing that action, the person does not treat anyone as a mean and treats everyone as an end in itself.
These theories challenge what an individual think is right and wrong. Some of ethical theories are given in detail below. • Utilitarianism: Utilitarian ethical theories are based on person’s ability to foretell the reaction of a particular action. It is part of a normative ethics that is the study of ethical actions or ethics
Consequentialist theory followers. Consequentialist theory followers focus mostly on the consequences of the decision and the action. The most famous consequentialist theory is Utilitarianism. This theory follows the principle of utility which assumes that the decision is ethical if it maximizes benefits to the society and minimizes harms.
