Dinner date with the Mendez ‘Vega Family. A night with my family of 11 people sitting around the dinner table just enjoying each other’s company. As a family we ate dinner together 6 out of 7 days a week around the dinner table together. A normal meal at my house would consist of Puerto Rican rice (Arroz con Gandules) with some kind of meat.
Crackle, pop the fire sounded as I placed new logs on top of the hot embers. This was the fire the children of my village sat around and told stories before they went to sleep, and tonight was no different. All of their eyes stared at me expectantly as they waited for me to start telling them a story. “Two Rivers Running, tell us the Story of the Great Battle again,” the little ones asked. All eyes were on me as I sat down next to them, everyone silent as I told them the story of the Great Battle.
The summer of 2017 I went with my uncle to Wisconsin Dells. It was my first time going to Wisconsin Dells. There were so many things to experience at the waterpark from the long lines of people, to the many water slides, to the loudness and the smell of chlorine. We arrived at the waterpark at about ten o’clock. There weren 't very many people there.

Lake Cumberland is a best-loved place to go for vacation mostly because of all the memories created there, but my favorite trip there was when we went camping this past summer. Since summer was ending and there was a three day weekend, my family decided to camp at the lake. Friday after school my mom, dad, sister and I drove down to Kentucky with the boat and stayed at a hotel, so the next day it would only take about an hour and a half to get to the dock. That hour and a half is a lot better than six hours from our house! Once we got down to the dock, we payed and took everything out of the truck and put it in the boat, then everyone but my dad had to get in the boat and my dad backed it down the ramp.
At the hotel there was all you can eat breakfast with many delicious foods and drinks. The smells of the foods made me crave it before I could even tell what foods there were. My favorite foods there were the omelettes which were well made and had a great balance of flavors. After the breakfast we packed up all our belongings and went to the docks were the cruise was. We had to wait a while in line to get our tickets for the cruise and then we signed up for some activities to keep us busy on the four day cruise.

Also going swimming and going to the arcade. We always look forward to the next trip there, it's away we all get to see each other every year if we didn’t make it to Michigan that year.
On this vacation I went to the beach, Universal Studios, and Disney world. We drove to Daytona and stayed in a little house/ village. It was my mom, my dad, Cate, Gavin, and I. A lot of my art peers, who are about to graduate when are asked about their future, says that they wish to quickly get a job and be able to pay bills. A number of people asked me what my major was, I said art, and they asked me why, and that I came all the way to the United States for this. Another one suggested me to change my major to either accounting or business. Last four years, I hesitated to join Cumberland University to study art. After years following a trend of “How to get an office job and get your monthly bill paid”, I finally found the place I was supposed to be in, Art.
At the beginning of my sophomore year, August 2015, I fractured my left ankle. My second season of cross country had just begun. The whole team had a Saturday practice at Atlanta Memorial Park. We came to this park for a time trial. Not being able to run was going to be a challenge for me.
