Personal Narrative-The World Cup Tournament

Chills were sent down my spine as I approached the podium my heart sat in my stomach. “How, why, who”, it all went through my head as I slowly came to the realization that it was me, I had won, finally something that I worked so hard for finally happened to me. Hundreds of people watched as I received All Around MVP of The World Cup Tournament. The sense of awe that I felt could not ever be explained. My senior year of high school was one of the best years for softball I have had so far. Not only, for my high school and state, make records that were not previously there, but I broke some as well as reaching the record books for Ohio. In addition to what I had accomplished in my senior year of high school, I was a member of the USA Cup Team attending a tournament in the Netherlands and Paris. To this day I can remember every little part of the entire trip from getting packed the night before I had to leave to looking out over Paris from the Eiffel Tower, seeing the entire landscape. Most of my teammates received an award whether it be onto a first or second team all tournament or the position player of the tournament. The overall best hitter award came around, now that was something I knew I could get, I was standing there adrenaline running through me thinking I had a good shot at this award, then I hear the hush of the crowd and the call of a name, it was a Dutch girls name, I have not ever been so dejected in my entire career. Trying to forget about the fact that the overall hitting award was my last attainable award i started talking to my teammates laughing looking at their awards. “The final award to be handed out tonight” rang through the auditorium but none of us were playing any type of attention to what was going on. Next thing I know the girl next to me started to push me “You won Niki you won it
