White Oak Bridge We moved to a new town, new place, and to a new scenery in the last 2 weeks. “There are a lot of places to adventure around here Sammy,” My mother told me. But, what I saw on the drive down here, it all looked pretty ancient and torn down. Our new house was on the corner street of Mayflower, and we live in Oklahoma now. I got to pick my own room-which ended up being in the attic, so I will not have to listen to my sisters picker at each other all day. My father left us, which is mostly why we left because of this big fight my parents got into. But I was supposed to leave that behind us.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a little boy standing by the side of his house, he looked at us like our house was new meat to a tiger. I stood up and lost my balance. My head hurt more than ever, because I think I hit it on something but I can not remember much. I heard a whisper in my right year that startled me. I looked behind me and nobody was there.
“Leave.” The voice spit out.
“What? Who is that?”
“Go to the river, and you will see..” The voice lingered in my head, it was like a trance. I got up- Daisy followed. I watched my feet underneath me walking in one direction, but my head was all over the place. I stood on the bridge looking down at myself in the water, “Take a swim Sammy.” The voice told me.
“I know you want to Sam, all of your friends are down there-join them.”
I stepped up onto the ledge and stared awhile. I began to let my body weight just fall, and gravity take control.
Once I closed my eyes, they were opened again, by the little boy across the street, tackling me to the ground. “Wake up! Wake up Sammy!” He scolded.
