Effect of Stress on University Students
Don’t take our word for it - see why 10 million students trust us with their essay needs.
Teachers don’t have to rush through material, and as a result, students don’t feel pressure to be first, to be the fastest. Students don’t fall behind simply because they need a little more time to figure a problem out. That part left me feeling a bit
Sherry goes on and explains why we think it is right to sometimes excuse students who cheat the system because they come from terrible environments, but then goes on to conclude that “most kids don’t put school first on their list unless they perceive something else is at stake.” I think this is why there is a UIL rule at a lot of schools with a “no pass no play” policy. Students who are involved in extracurricular activities then have a reason to strive to pass. Sherry believes that “people of all ages can rise above their problems, but they need a reason to do so.”
With that said, one shouldn’t place everyone on an equal standing in power yet place limitations and restrictions on them to control what things should and shouldn’t be done just as well, for both can produce negative results or produce them inefficiently. Balance is necessary to maintain for living beings can accomplish great things when the environment around them is pleasant and lacks any possible hierarchies, even those that remain unseen. First off, it’s important to note how in “Project Classroom Makeover”, Cathy Davidson’s usage of the classroom example could be seen as an example of when collective knowledge bettered a system of organization. At first, Cathy Davidson seemingly had no hope in being able to pass the eighth grade and therefore would not have had the chance to graduate, all due to not being able to memorize the preamble. Nothing more and nothing less so it seems.
Inappropriate actions included strict authority, force, fear and pain (The Struggle For Public Schools). Other gaps proved severe in performance of elementary students. For instance, before the education reform areas of less focus on homework and instruction, poor test scores, lower academic performances than competitors in other countries occurred (Galens). Unquestionably, children did not perform well with the youth education system in place. *The final
Anh T Vo Dr. Oxendine Engl 1301-81057 18 December, 2015 Reflection Before my English 1301 class started, I made a commitment for myself that I would get an A in this class. In order to achieve this goal, I make some short-term goals, try my best, and consider my behavior. All actions and thoughts, which I have made in this course, give me a fresh result as the end of the semester is coming. Being an ambitious student offers me opportunities to keep encourage myself study hard and believe that my effort will be paid off. Before this course started, I bought a required book.
We have the option to be connected 24/7 and although in some ways in makes our lives more stressful, we still do it. Additionally Chapter 8, which focuses on organization, also deals with the role of the specific technology that is in our lives. Although most of the students in our class are of a younger generation than Powers, most of us agreed with his low-tech organization methods. Just like Powers talks about writing things down in his Moleskin notebook, a majority of students stated that they prefer writing lists and schedules down on paper, even though most of us have
I did not realize my potential as a young scholar; in doing so, I set myself back academically. My priorities were set on understanding the hectic schedule instead of the vigorous goals that I have now. As a fourteen year-old in freshman year, my standards were set lower for myself since I was unorganized and lost majority of the time. I lacked skills in time-management and multitasking; skills which I practiced and perfected through my school’s use of the modular schedule.
I have been writing important due dates and events on them. Prior to this, I would remember information solely through memorization. The planner has helped to improve my organization skills. No longer do I complete the assignment the night before and my grades demonstrate the change. In order to make sure I have sufficient time to complete each task, I have formulated time frames.
Outliers, written by Malcolm Gladwell, is an informational book regarding the intricacies of success and how it comes to fruition in individuals. Outliers has served to teach students the means of being successful and the importance of seizing opportunities as they come. Personally, Outliers has changed my views of success in numerous ways. Before reading said book, I had always assumed people who were naturally talented or had specific privileges were the only ones who could get far. However, Gladwell’s writing has informed me that anyone, if they are prepared to work hard, can reach their goals.
It was early August on a bright, sunny, day when I was about twelve years, I was in middle school and you know when you're in middle school, every teen, wants a cell phone. Well, that was true because, all of my friends at my school had cell phones and not me and for myself I thought it was fine because I was so young but at the same time I really wanted one. The cell phone that i wanted was the iPhone, I wanted one of those because it was the most popular devices. I always told my parents about it all the time, but they always told me to do chores or else it would not happen.
Disconnected With more than five billion people in the world now owning some kind of mobile phone, it’s hard to imagine a world without these devices. Without your smartphone who would tend to your crops on Hay Day? Who would take care of your Snapstreaks while you’re gone?
To improve my organization I can first start by emptying out my backpack. Then I can throw away all of the old papers that I don't need. Next only keep the notebooks and folders that I use. I will have one
Time management: Time management is a very crucial component if you are willing to have a productive lifestyle. To be honest, I have always had issues with managing my time efficiently. This problem had become a huge obstacle once I got into college. Thus, attending a lecture that focuses on time management helped me a lot with this problem by introducing me to different aspects related to time management: planning, SMART goals, and important/urgent matrix. Learning to make a specific plan for my daily tasks and make a to-do list to make my day as productive as possible is something very helpful which was advised to me by the instructor of this lecture Mr. Irfan.
It is also useful to look at the test calendar for the week to have a mental image of what days will be tougher than others throughout the week. I also like to use weekends to my advantage. When I am not out with friends, completing service
Having determination means that if you get assigned a really hard essay or project, that you will push yourself to do it, and do it well, until it is complete. After your school years, you are going to be assigned difficult tasks by your employer, but you cannot just give up. You have to keep on trying, because in the real world the consequences may be worse than getting a bad grade. Organization plays a key role in being an honors student, because if you’re not organized, things might get a little messy. A person needs to be able to know where things are and be on top of their work to be successful.
