Personal Narrative: Why The United States Government Failed

The Reason the United States Government Has Failed its People It is now January 3rd, 1931, and I have been unemployed and homeless for over a year now living on the streets of Chicago. About ten years ago, I started working in a factory that created underarm deodorant. Around a year and a half ago, my wage was decreased. Eventually I was fired. The Great Depression is the cause of this terrible event in my life. The United States government has failed us in this great time of need. So many people are unemployed and cannot afford to buy food. I cannot even remember that last time that I had a full meal. Herbert Hoover has destroyed the American economy and the American dream. I think that the government has completely failed at its job. I believe that politicians should provide for its citizens in a time of need. Over the past few years, they failed many times at trying to end the Great Depression. The Agricultural Marketing Act, which was an attempt of the government to buy farm products and encourage farmers to cut production, failed terribly when farmers continued to grow crops just to meet their mortgage payments. Most Americans do not see the logical side of communism that I see. There is not a candidate that shares the exact same views as me. My beliefs are not popular, even though there are millions of people that are suffering and without food. I do not know what I will do in the next few years. Things are not getting any better, so I will probably continue to be unemployed and homeless on the streets of Chicago. Hopefully, Americans will begin to see the amazing impact that a communistic government would have on our economy and society.
