Cosmetologists can be expanded into multiple parts including cutting and chemically treating hair, chemical hair removal without a sharp blade, fashion trends, wigs, nails and skin care, skin and hair analysis; relaxation techniques including head, neck, scalp, hand and feet basic massage and aroma therapies; plus ability to expertly apply makeup applications to cover or promote and can expand into further specialties such as reflexology and theatrical applications. They are professionals at their job and have a lot of hard work to do (for their clients)and learn. Physical stamina is important, because they are on their feet for most of their shift. They can also be traveling everywhere if there someone elses makeup artist or get booked for jobs and opportunities. When working they wear gloves and aprons from the chemical exposure their working with. Many barbers, hairdressers, and cosmetologists work full time,and they also do part-time positions. Those who run their own barbershop or salon have to work long hours. Work schedules often include evenings and weekends―the times when barbershops and beauty salons are busiest. The movie and video industry paid cosmetologists an average of $69,780 per year, the highest for any industry. To be a cosmetologist it involves hard work and dedication. You will have to work on your feet all day depending on where and how long you work. The hourly pay will be about a little over average pay and you get the same hours if you work part time and or regular schedules. When you 're ,your own employee you make your own schedule and pay.
