When we were all younger, most of us had an idea of what we wanted to be when we grew up. Whether it was a firefighter or president, we all had our future planned out. But once we got older and entered high school, plans changed. For me personally, I changed my mind a couple of times before I made a decision about what I wanted to do with my life. I decided that I wanted to go to Parkland College and get my degree in Dental Hygiene.

The career field that I have chosen to go into is the medical field. In the medical field I would like to become a dental hygienist. Some more research I utilized is how many years of college are needed, what you do while at work, and if you work by yourself or who you work with.
As a medical assistant we have much responsibilities in the medical office. When it comes to physical therapy and rehabilitation we have a few different roles to do. It is important that we have enough motivation. For example, We may consist with helping them walk . Assisting in rehabilitation may also mean, that you deal with the same patients.
As population goes up, the general health will continue to soar the demands for dental services. Dental Hygienists help patients develop and keep satisfying oral care, they combine together to meet the oral health needs of patients. As a freshmen in college, I am supposed to know what career I want to pursue in the future. However, I am having troubles choosing one specific career due to the growing amount of careers we have today. At this moment, I am certain that I want a career that All that I know for sure is that I want to pursue a career that positively impacts another individuals life. For instance, being that person that boosted another individuals’ confidence or teaching/informing an individual something they never learned before. At this moment, I have two careers in mind: a Dental Hygienist or an Elementary School Teacher.
My ambition to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy at University commenced in my teenage years, when I first came to London and visited the dentist. The professional approach coupled with a kind and compassionate nature and all of the different instruments and scientific technology the Dental Hygienist and Therapist used fascinated me. I am currently studying Dental Nursing at Teesside University. This course involves providing correct support to the dentist at the chair side, reassuring and supporting patients, maintaining a gold standard clinical environment, charting, dental anatomy and physiology. Studying this course has enhanced my knowledge of dental terminology and procedures as well as the anatomy of the oral cavity.
The school truly believes not only helping students become amazing dentist but will help you become leaders in the community. When I first graduated high school I thought I wanted to be a pilot to fly airplanes, so I signed up to attend classes at Kishwaukee College located in DeKalb. ECC helped me sing up for classes at an in district rate because Elgin could not offer the courses that I wanted to me. During the first semester I found out that I did not want to become a pilot anymore and that I would be happier if I changed and focused on computer science. The advisors helped me schedule classes back at ECC for computer science then next semester. During the last year and a half at ECC I have been able to start fulfilling my education goals by getting a good education and find out what I want to go to college for.
Ever since I was young, dentistry had sparked my interest for my career. Dentistry appeals to me chiefly because I had always wanted to be involved in a profession where I can help people. My love towards human biology especially human teeth also contributes to my career choice. Most importantly, I find human teeth interesting, often fascinating. Due to my compassionate nature, I have since long known that I would want to pursue dentistry as my career because I get to form relationships with my patients, work hand in hand with many people on a face to face basis.
