I am a student in Lopez Early College High School and I am in the varsity football team. Last year in the 2014-2015 football season we the team went 0-10. That means that we went 0 wins and 10 losses. Last year we were a bunch of sophomores in the varsity team and as a team in general we were not experienced in playing in a varsity game, since we really went from the freshman football team straight to the varsity football team. I remember that when we played Los Fresno my sophomore we lost to them extremely bad, I remember the score being 72-0.
For example, when I’m playing I feel like i have to be the best in the team to know our best plays we have. This shows that soccer is an awesome sport because you get to make more friends. Another reason why soccer is an awesome sport because Soccer is a more fluid sport, an aspect that appeals to many fans and players. For example me and my friends are passionate
Participating in sports highlights my ability to work with teammates and focus in difficult situations. I have been captain on my volleyball team since seventh grade and captain on my club volleyball team for the last two years. Each year
Individuals and society as a whole are greatly affected by stereotypes. Based on prejudice and discrimination in the 21st century stereotypes are overgeneralized. Certain groups experience inaccurate assumptions based on their race or culture made by other individuals. Throughout the 21st-century, many shows, movies, and entertainment tackle stereotype assumptions. Using a sociological perspective to examine this effect of stereotypes I am analyzing the show Shameless.
Former star safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Troy Polamalu, once said “I’ve never been a fan of individual awards because football is such a team sports. There’s so many things that go into making plays. It’s about teammates trusting one another and working together.” It’s the very first sentence of my speech and I’ve already hit you with a corny quote about a sport some of you may dislike or even despise. As cliché as the quote may sound it does highlight a couple key values and traits developed through the game that are often overlooked.
Because it makes you believe in yourself, because there are players besides being idols are great people, because the one that plays better does not win, but one that left his heart in the field, because soccer is the only religion that has no atheists, Because if you do not feel the game for soccer you wouldn’t understand it, because knowing that you lost is the first step to a victory, because is a passion that make us happy, because is more than just a game, because no matter the time or the place soccer is played everywhere, because we all dream of making the best move or the best goal in a match, because there is nothing else cuter than winning, because even if we lose we always have a rematch a second chance, because it is the sport in which your friends can become enemies and enemies can become friends, because nothing is said until the end of 90 minutes, because it takes more than talent to succeed, because there are players who leave everything on the field, because it is a passion that lies in our hearts, for such a simple object as the ball can make millions of people happy, for this and more soccer is the most beautiful sport in the
Populations Affected Increasing the access to healthy food in low-income, food desert communities is a healthy step toward reducing the rate of chronic disease in our community. Many of the public health challenges and rising health care costs are directly related to chronic diseases and conditions like cardiovascular disease, hypertension, cancer, diabetes, low birth weight, obesity and anemia. Bad nutrition and poor food access plays a role in creating these diseases. This problem affects all age ranges and different demographic areas. Demographics Of Colorado’s 64 counties, 24 are designated as rural, 23 are designated as frontier (fewer than six people per square mile), and 17 are designated as urban (The Colorado Health Foundation,
Additionally, sports are extremely important in building one’s character through hard work, learning to work with others on a team and by learning how to cope with the joy of winning and the inevitability of losing. One thing to know about any sport is that there is no free ride. You earn recognition, all your playing time, and a starting position through hard work. I grew up playing all kinds of different
It gives young men the chance to form relationships that only come by being a part of a team. My philosophy for football is to be a fundamentalist. Fundamentals should be worked on every day, and should never be overlooked. Besides the individual fundamental techniques of the different positions, I believe the game holds
They say the game of football teaches life lessons and morals that can only can be caught from the experiences the game brings. Well that’s exactly why I’m still playing the game. It was freshman year coming into high school, you know the first day jiggers and being lost for countless minutes trying to find your class. Making sure you have a pencil and a notebook to write in. Looking around trying to find familiar faces.
On and off the field. Football is finding a way to win for the home crowd Football is life. I have been playing football since my 8th grade year. And every since that year I loved the game of football. I enjoy playing football it keep me in shape [ and talking and getting out making your body right and making friends treatments is building brother hood.
Soccer, many people love soccer, it is a magnificent sport beloved from all around the globe. Did you know that according to a FIFA estimate, there are 265 million football players worldwide and over 5 million referees, or 4% of the world's population2. One of the many reasons that I love soccer is because I'm excellent at it. Being good at a sport is one of the many reasons that you can love a sport.
My last reason is that it improves self-esteem levels; helps improve self-confidence and helps kids deal with pressure. This is why I believe competitive sports should be a part of all kids’ lives. One major reason demonstrating why kids should play
Soccer has kept me off the streets, it keeps me focused, maintaining agility, stamina and a side of aggression. The feeling I get when playing soccer is indescribable, the wind in my face, the crowd cheering me on..most importantly the goal - soccer relates so much to my everyday life it’s taught me teamwork and keeping myself healthy and sharp. The one person I look up to is Lionel Messi #10, the jersey that I so proudly wear every game, his motivational words, his enthusiasm really drove me to get that number and one of my favorite quotes of his would have to be “the day you think there is no improvements to be made is a sad one for anyone.” this quote is important to me because it’s a quote with such a powerful meaning, telling me that even though you may THINK you can’t get better, or do better something pushes you inside to do much greater things and I’m still learning as I go. You could ask any one of my friends or family members how much soccer has became a part of me, I want to have that name “Destiny Scott” affiliated with soccer it’s become second nature to me, soccer is a major part in my life and it has made me into the person I am
For many years I was interested in becoming the greatest soccer player in the world but I practiced only like once every two weeks. I started noticing that all of my friends were surpassing me in soccer and becoming a lot better than me. I asked myself, “how am I going to become the greatest soccer player in the world if I rarely practice and all my friends are becoming better than me?”. I told myself that I would become better than all of my friends again and that I would practice everyday for three hours.
