My poem is “Gold” by Pat More. The point of view in my story is first person, because Pat is telling the story from her perspective. “Gold” has the tone of light-hearted, because she's living a very happy life. The main setting in my book is nature by the desert and high in the sky. The literacy device that stands out is personification, personification is when you give human qualities to nonhuman things. The first example of personification is “ears stiff in the shade.” The personification was found in the first stanza and the eighth line. This example of personification means that the animals are listing to hear for any danger or looking out for each other.
