Going to college is a big step in everybody’s lives. It does not matter if you go to a four-year school, two-year school or even a technical school. As long as you have a degree, you will be able to find a well-paying job and make it in life without judgement. College is a wonderful opportunity for everyone. In America, students have an easy option of going to college, however in France, it is not as easy. In America, there are many different opportunities for young adults to attend college. America has four-year schools, two-year schools, community colleges and even technical schools. High School students have the option of going to Vo-Tech from sophomore to senior year. Vo-Tech is where high school students can begin their career choices such as, nursing, cosmetology, welding, child care, culinary and many more. However, in America students can go to college undecided. For the rest of their High School career, students take classes that are specifically designed for their future. In theory, this seems like a wonderful idea for the students. However, in order for the students to even have entry, they must pass the baccalauréat (About France). A good friend of mine is from France. She moved to France when she was in 8th grade and started studying for the Bac the start of freshman year. She was determined to pass the test. In the long run, she ended up passing her test and going to Bellecour Ecole d’Arts in Lyon, France for graphic design. Some students are not as lucky as her. Some students end up taking the test four times before passing. Some students give up after failing it the first time. Because of this, most French natives work in bakeries, farms, stores and etc. In America, if a young adult would do this, they would be considered a failure by
