That’s right. Human trafficking has been reported in every single state in the United States (Resources and Publications). These are things that are not only happening in a faraway land. It is an issue on the home front. It is one of those things that is easy to feel sad about and just brush off because it does not really affect you.
Human trafficking produces billions of dollars in profit every year, it is right behind drug trafficking as the most lucrative form of crime throughout the world. (DHS website). Victims of human trafficking rarely come forward due to the threats of murder, threats of killing their loved ones/friends, as well as having nowhere else to go because they have been ostracized from their own family and their “pimp” is their family. Another issue of why victims do not come forward is that they are afraid of law enforcement so they may go to jail, etc. (DHS website)
They may have banned slavery, but racism still occurs today in this world. We can stop the racism. No matter what you look like, we are all human. Skin color does not matter whatsoever. We all have a brain and a heart and of course feelings, “... all men are equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
The United States abolished slavery in 1865, the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states, "neither slavery nor involuntary servitude...shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction" (The United States Constitution). We never thought that over one-hundred years later there would be a new form of slavery that has affected so many people around the globe. Human trafficking is another name for modern-day slavery, where the victims involved are forced, coerced and deceived into labor and sexual exploitation. Most human trafficking victims are forced into the trade by the false promises made regarding job opportunities. Many women from third world countries are lured into this trade with the bait of false marriages or false jobs.
Being kidnapped is a very serious issue in our country. In 2010, according to NCIC's Missing Person File, over 65,000 individuals were categorized as "person over the age of 21, not meeting the criteria for entry in any category who is missing and for whom there is a reasonable concern for his/her safety. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), every year, more than 200,000 children are abducted by family members. An additional 58,000 are taken by nonrelatives with primarily sexual motives.
Those numbers, of foreigners also include children, not only men and women. People have begun to set up organizations to stop human trafficking. In 2004 a large sex ring was busted, when rescuers got inside, 25 enslaved women were freed. All around people, men and women were rejoicing. Often victims of human trafficking don't ever come back home.
“Illegal immigration continues to be a major problem in the United States. We have people wanting to come here legally and we should not be rewarding people who have come here illegally,” said John Barrasso. The United States Government should not allow immigrants into America because they are having negative effects on our country. Some negative effects are citizens competing with illegals for jobs, immigrants expecting favors, and Americans not getting to work hard for their money.
Now after listing some of the official organization that are using technology to help end this form of slavery, I would like to list some of the ways we, in this modern age, can help end this grievous crime. It might be easy to hear the facts about human trafficking, but fall into the false idea that it is simply up to our government and other such groups to deal with this important issue, and this is simply not true, in our technology advanced day and age it is now easier than ever to help do our part to help end this horror. Anyone can and should join in the fight against human trafficking, we can do this by, learning the indicators of human trafficking so you can help identify a potential trafficking victim. Human trafficking awareness training is available for individuals, businesses, first responders, law enforcement, educators, and federal employees, and many others. You can work with a local religious community or congregation to help stop trafficking by supporting a victim service provider or spreading awareness of human trafficking or encourage your local schools to partner with students and include modern slavery in their curricula.
“Wavin’ Flag” Music, the language of the world, is the main source of happiness amongst most people worldwide. With no importance to your religion, skin color, sexual preference, or ethnicity music gets all of us up to celebrate. Music can heal bad times, cheer us up when sad, and bring us all together as humankind. A song can be interpreted in numerous ways, and can have a double meaning. The best way, in my opinion, to campaign important issues of the world is through music.
The world has gone through a lot of major events in the past. However, there is still darkness in the background that people are ignoring. Human trafficking needs to be talked about more. The lost souls of the people that who were taken, are still roaming. They deserve their justice.
Human Trafficking is a popular trend for criminals in the twenty first century and this negative activity must be stopped by apprehending the human traffickers, educating the community of what to be aware of and what it is, and also to report any signs of
ABSTRACT Human trafficking is the trade of humans, most commonly for the purpose of slavery, forced labor, or commercial sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others. This unjustified trade and exploitation of human beings in the 21st century reflects a sad state of affairs which confirms that the greatest ethical challenge facing the globe today is human trafficking. It portrays a contrasting picture of inequality among equals with regard to the right of every individual over his or her life, since trafficked victims are compelled to sell their inherent freedom. Their cry for help is drowned in the sea of constant oppression and general sense of apathy which has been continuing for centuries. Human trafficking can occur within a country
This sort of sexual exploitation in the form of human trading, is bring notoriety to its name and a lot of countries consider Pakistan as one of the major trafficker and blame it as a reason for this ghastly crime accompanying other countries and even United States Department of state recently raised a finger at Pakistan for being a base area of this deplorable business. Poverty is the leading cause of this slavery, and it’s evident that poverty leads to uneducation resulting in increased unemployment giving rise to such trafficking cases in society. Besides human trafficking is one of those serious crimes which is globally considered as the major cause of a fact that majority of the people carrying HIV/AIDS virus are women. Many women and children are unaware of risks associated when they intentionally opt for selling their bodies.
Sex trafficking is a major issue in the world and people often overlook the fact that it can be an issue in the most modern and advanced first world countries. This is the modern term for slavery of people for purposes including forced sex and labor. Sex trafficking is one of the most exclusive and most advanced types of slavery and is often gone unseen or unnoticed. This problem can cause many people to have low self-esteem and problems with their health. The low self-esteem is often caused because the people are raised or built to understand that they have no worth and that they are meant for nothing but to be raped and to do work without pay.
There are many women who are being forced into sex, beaten or perhaps abused in her lifetime by a person called a man. At some other times, the women are being assaulted by people whom they don’t know, but most frequently they are hurt or abused by people who are close to them. Women abuse occur in all cultures and races, it doesn’t have any boundaries. We have buried a lot of women, of which their death resulted from women abuse issue, some women today have anger and can’t even raise their children properly, they are angry with everyone and some can’t even face the world. Women abuse causes an awful emotional and physical pain; it intimidates the lives of women.
