Jeff Flake, an United States Senator wrote for the Waste book, stated, “...Over $7.3 million of taxpayers ' money was wasted on studies involving animals in 2016.” Animal testing, also known as animal researching, animal research is the use of animals in experiments that help us find cures and test products to see if they are safe or not. Not testing animals will not help us get cured and test results. Animals testing should not be used because of cures, cruelty, and costs.

Andrew Knight, a professor of Animal Welfare and Ethics that is writing for The Conversation, claimed, “Those costs may include animal lives, the consumption of considerable financial and scientific resources and, potentially, even adverse impacts on patients and consumers, when human results differ from those predicted by animal models.” However, testing and researching on animals is expensive. John Ericson, an American, German film actor writing for News Week, reported, “Biotechnology company Empiriko invented synthetic livers which can predict the liver 's metabolic reactions to drugs in a process that is quicker, cheaper, and more accurate than animal testing; in one trial it provided a level of specificity which previously would have required testing on 1,000 rats and 100 dogs.” This example proves, that animal testing is too expensive and we can use a different way called synthetic livers, it is cheaper, quicker, and way more accurate than animals. So we can save lives by not using animals and use synthetic livers to get more accurate and cheaper tests. Jeff Flake, an United States Senator wrote for the Wastebook, stated, “...Over $7.3 million of taxpayers ' money was wasted on studies involving animals in 2016.” This data suggests, that millions of dollars were wasted on animal testing, that money could of went to taxpayers’ instead. We could of used a better method of testing so we don’t waste so much money on testing. To conclude, it is expensive to use animals in testing and
