College Free Debt Free
Do you imagine yourself, wealthy, happy, and successful? I believe we all do. Money isn't everything to most people but to some it's their whole entire world. To me, money is going to be my everything these next few years. I don't have parents that make godly amounts of money, my moms a hair dresser and my dad works as a pilot. I've worked my tail end off, since my freshmen year as I knew my college wouldn't be paid for. You may ask, how did your siblings pay for college. I have two older brothers, one being biological, and one being my dads oldest son. I watched them struggle making it financially, and wondering how they were going to pay for college. As a young 18 year old, you are still learning aspects of life, that not many people still have a clue too. We are thrown out into the world, and expected to spread our wings and fly and spend our money wisely. I believe college is possible to come out debt free but others believe student loans are a great way to pay for college as well. Student loans is a loan taken out to pay for educational purposes. Many students now, are taking out student loans with the rising of tuition costs. Although student loans can be helpful at the time, I believe they don't show you how to save and spend your money wisely. Eventually, you have to pay all the loans back, and it all adds up. Student loans are stressful and many people believe they are grants. Student loans are not grants. Grants aid money that is given to you, that you don't have to pay back. Grants are a blessing, as it's free money. Scholarships are a lot lake grants. Therefore, scholarships is money that is given to you. I have researched, and found many random scholarships, and all you have to do is fill out a small essay and fill out an application and you are awarded free money. FAFSA, is financial aid. Financial aid, is based off your parents income, and based off that, you are awarded so much money. Financial aid is supplied by the government and occasionally state agencies. Often times, when filing for financial aid, you will be awarded student loans, and I have been advised not to accept those, as that often how college students go into debt, as any loan you take or apply for, you are required to pay back. I believe financial aid is helpful to those students who don't have the money to pay for college out of pocket. Because my parents make a decent amount of money, I wasn't awarded much. Parents are allowed to take out a loan as well, to help their children pay for college, but my parents didn't feel they needed to do that, as it doesn't teach me the value of life. Although, they want to help me as much as they can, they know by helping me I am only going to rely on their help that much
