The time has come for you to begin your eighth grade year. Many people think, that the change between eighth grade and seventh grade isn’t that big of a change but it really is. It seems like you're the ones ruling the hallways now. There are some parts of your eighth grade year you're going to enjoy tremendously and other parts you won’t. It may seem like every year goes by pretty quick, but your eighth grade year is one of the fastest years. I felt that Language Arts was one of the toughest subjects as an eighth grader. As long as you work and try hard it will lead you to great success in Language Arts and the rest of your eighth grade year. Although you think you can be big and bad eighth graders and do what you want it really isn’t in your best interest. It’s important that you have your stuff organized so that you're prepared for class. If you start off with the qualities you’re going to need for high school it’s going to make high school a lot easier. In high school they don’t cut you near as much slack. If you’re prepared for class it helps a lot with staying organized and if using your student planner helps you with that use it. There are a lot of important dates for things due from writing papers to projects for just other homework. I didn’t use my planner, but made sure I had times written down so I knew how to manage my time. It’s also important not to leave things in class because if you misplace it and can’t find it back it’s your fault you didn’t complete the work on time. In Language Arts if you forget something it goes into the treasure chest. If you want it back you then have to pay Mrs. Kaup for it. It’s just important to be very prepared for anything and
