I think people should be able to ride dirt bikes on the street because people usually only ride on the road to get to a trail, if someone gets chased by the police on the street it puts themselves and others in danger, and because dirt bikes keep up with traffic and if ridden responsibly it does not bother anyone. I think that if someone is only going to a trail right down the road, why should someone have to go through the trouble of loading there bike in a truck just to go down the road and struggle to find a parking space to go ride? Even though dirt bikes don’t have blinkers most riders go out of their way to use hand signals to keep themselves and other people on the road safe. This is an example of one of the reasons why I think people riding dirt bikes on the road doesn’t bother anyone. “The Hurt Study also explains why the safest lane for a motorcyclist (especially in city riding) is the last one you would guess. It’s the fast lane (www.quora.com).” This applies to dirt bikes as well. Also people who drive reckless on dirt bikes on the road usually do wheelies and speed because they know they are already breaking the law so why not have some fun while doing it. I think that if were legal to ride on the road people wouldn’t drive reckless because they wouldn’t already be breaking the law by being on the street.
