12 November 2017 It is four-thirty in the morning when the alarm clock on the night stand goes off. Majority of the time, people are absolutely furious to be awakened at such an early time, however, this feels like Christmas Day as a young kid. Most people know the know feeling of a being a young kid on Christmas Day. Trying desperately to fall asleep the night before so they can enjoy the promise of opening presents in the morning. The mixture of emotions such as: excitement, anxiousness, and pure joy, that run through a kids veins. This is the exact wray of emotions a hunter feels the night before, and the morning of, the opening day of hunting for their choice of species. I have personally hunted wildlife since I was five years old, and feel I have both enough experience, and knowledge to discuss the topic. Hunting has always been a part of my life since the day I was born, and I was very fortunate to be taught the tradition by my family. Some days hunting can be the highest of highs, and there are other days when it can also be also the lowest of lows. When hunting is done right it can teach: life lessons, values, morals, patience, and can help build a persons character. However, the actions of a few people, who I would never dare call hunters, have sparked a national debate about a tradition that has always been apart of human DNA.
