Wrestling VS. Trampoline Gymnastics

Wrestling and Gymnastics are two exciting and fun filled sports. They have their similarities and their differences. For example, in wrestling you wrestle people your weight. In gymnastics, you compete against people your level. Wrestling and Gymnastics both focus on technique and hard work. If you have to decide between your two sports, Wrestling or Gymnastics, which will you choose? In wrestling, you need wrestling shoes that help you stick to the mat and protect your feet from getting hurt whereas in gymnastics you need thin small dance like shoes that help you grip the trampoline. In wrestling you also need headgear which is a piece of foam pieces that is strapped to your head to prevent you from hurting your head. In gymnastics, you do not need any type of head piece. To prevent getting hurt, you wrestle people in your weight class. While in gymnastics, you compete against people your level, no matter their size or age. …show more content…

In gymnastics, you go once by yourself against people that go either before or after you. There is no physical contact with other people in gymnastics. Points and scoring is another big thing. In wrestling, you get points for takedown, escape, or nearfall (when you almost pin your opponent.) In gymnastics, you get points for height, form, and technique. To get any points, you would need a judge, or as you call it in wrestling and many other sports, a reff. A judge will sit at a table and watch you do your routine criticizing your every move and keeping score. Refs will be on the mat with you as you wrestling and will tell you when to start and stop. They will tell the scorekeeper when someone gets points. At the end of the match, whoever has the most points
