Persuasive Essay: Should Child Soldiers Be Forgiven?

Many child soldiers had gone through traumatizing events, but should be given amnesty. Child Soldiers have been the cause of the death of innocent people. They were put up to do that job and went through with it without question. Many people believe that child soldiers should not be given amnesty, but others think they should be forgiven. They did not choose to kill people, most were forced, drugged, and tortured into doing it. Even though there are people that believe child soldiers should be forgiven, others think different. These child soldiers had knew exactly what they were doing, but not even question the idea. There are many child soldiers that have gone through horrible things, but should not be forgiven. First, child soldiers are the cause of the deaths of innocent human beings. The author of Child Soldiers states, “ … kill innocent civilians, other children, and even their own families.” ( ) Child soldiers had not only killed innocent civilians, they had also killed their own families. They did not even have the heart to try to something else about it. From the article Armed and Underaged it states, “Thousands of boys, some as young as ten, are purchased, kidnapped, or terrorized into joining the country’s army.” ( ) These children do not choose to be apart of the army, horrible things are done to the them to that they do join. The author of Child Soldier, Prosecution explain, “Children are often forced into fighting and have little choice over whether or not they enlist.” ( ) Again, they have absolutely no say or choice in what they do; they may just be killed for objecting against an order.
