Personally, I think that harsher punishments may be necessary, or else the youth will never learn. The people's concerns that the youth get off too easy are justified. There are young people who vandalize and steal, who get off easy, then just repeat. Most people have gotten sick of this.

The cost of creating and maintain juvenile detention centers is insane. During the 1990s “the juvenile justice system saw a 43% increase in spending, mainly as a response to the expenditures that accompanied the increased confinement of juvenile offenders” (Gaudio, 2010). It has been proven that juvenile’s brains are not as developed as adults and the threat of detention does not affect them as much as it would in an adult so it would not be as affective at deterring crime. Being incarcerated also may make a juvenile more likely to reoffend once they are released.

One way to discipline delinquents or to remove them from society is to incarcerate them. When kids that are only 16 and 17 are tried in adult court, studies have shown that these teens are more likely to commit crimes and serious offenses. For this reason some kids get into a cycle of trials, Juvy, and release because that is all they know how to do, because when they are released they don’t know how to live a normal life.

Shakespeare 's works should not be taught to students in schools because it’s difficult for students to understand, his work is not culturally diverse, and is outdated for today’s students.
