Hubner did a great job in supporting his thesis. When he talked about all the different treatment programs offered and Giddings State School. Such as behavior problem start young and the parent should fix it. When adults see their children misbehaving at an early age, which these signs are sometimes just acting out; whether it was in school are at home. One program that has not really worked for young juveniles is “Beyond Scared Straight”. The “Beyond Scared Straight” is a juvenile prevention program in New Jersey that is broadcasted on the A&E cable television channel. This program brings kids from age 11-18 in jail and prison, to show them that this is not the type of lifestyle they want. “Beyond Scared Straight” shows everything from how prisoners get their lunch to how they all share a shower with more than 40 other men. The kids personally get sat down with prisoners who have decided to change their life. They do this to try to help the kids decide that the streets are not the way you want to make a living and how their families feel by their poor conduct. This does not completely work because the juveniles know they are not there to stay and will be leaving soon but the effective programs are the ones they offer at Giddings throughout the two phases where the young offenders talk about their family history and the past crimes they have
