I think that zoos are bad for animals. I think they are bad for many reasons. Some animals can get very harmed, or even die. Zoos aren’t the best place for animals. Animals can get Zoochosis, they can get poached, and they don’t get enough exercise.
Should Zoos be Made Illegal? Zoos have been around for hundreds of years, in fact they can be dated back all the way to 1250 BC, when ancient Egyptian records described birds, lions, and giraffes in captivity. Today there are over 10,000 zoos worldwide, entertaining millions with exotic animals behind bars. With species threatened and habitats disappearing worldwide, due to poaching and destruction caused by man, zoos are playing a new role in conservation.
Zoos Should Be Banned Imagine you are five years old, someone breaks into your home, kills your aunt and possibly your older brother in the process of kidnapping you. You are separated from your loved ones, leaving your mother in severe pain and grief. You are taken somewhere unknown, imprisoned in a cell where people come watch you for their own entertainment.
It is common today seeing almost every animal in the zoo. This is nowhere more evident that zoos are protecting animals and escaping their species to be extinction. It is disagreed that zoos are hurting animals or not safe for them. This will be shown by taking in to account that zoos should not be banned and should encourage to keep safe animals at their.
The first reason why there shouldn 't be zoos is because they make animals unhealthy. For example, animals live longer in the wild rather than in zoos. Studies have proven that elephants live longer in the wild rather than in zoos (Lin). This means that because zoos make animals unhealthy, they live a shorter life. Another way that zoos make animals unhealthy is that they make animals live in small habitats causing health problems.
Going to a zoo could be a wonderful experience for a lot of young people, but what really happens when you don’t see the animals in the exhibits or sanctuaries? Zoos have been around for decades and have saved animals from extinction. Although some animal may not be able to set free, zoos should still be considered necessary for endangered species. Zoos are still critical for animals survival rate when endangered, important for scientific study, and it inspires young people to help protect the animals by viewing them in person. Zoos and wildlife reserves are absolutely critical for the animal species facing extinction to prosper in the enclosures to help bring them back.
But that is not the actual purpose of the zoo and it is rare to see those types of zoos. All in all, with the continuing global threats to the atmosphere it is hard for individuals to visualize zoos as something apart from being essential to the long-term survival of various species. Not just in terms of protecting them and breeding them for reintroduction, but to learn regarding them to assist those still within the wild, as well as to educate and inform the general public about these animals and their world: to pique their interest so they will assist or at least accept the necessity to be more environmentally aware. Sure there are many possibilities for improvement, but these benefits are essential to several species and potentially at least. Without zoos, the world would be a much poorer place.
Animals are also living things like people and needed to be taken care of. Many are suggesting that animals are better to be placed inside the zoos, while others believe that the zoos should be banned. This essay will discuss why it is better for animals to stay inside the zoos. Animals can only be taken care of if they are inside the zoos. People will not be able to take care of animals if they are living away from us.
Zoos have always been something that families love and kids look forward to going to. Kids learn about the animals and the habitats and enjoy the entertainment. This reason this matters is because zoo animals are killing people, and that would not happen as often if they were left in the wild. Animals in films are not as nice as they are on camera. For example, the orca featured in the film “Blackfish,” is responsible for three human deaths.
In 1874, the first zoo opened; however, since then there has been a lot of controversy around zoos. With over 10,000 zoos worldwide, the biggest issue people are seeing is that zoos are capturing innocent animals and putting them in small areas. In reverse, others believe that zoos are great for educational purposes. Zoos are extremely miserable for animals and they should be banned. Zoos are highly unsafe for animals.
Zoos are an unsuitable environment for wild animals and should be abolished. A zoo cannot provide the perfect environment for every type of animal. Also, one of the biggest reasons zoos exist is not for helping animals in danger, but in fact breeding them for human enjoyment. Starting thousands of years ago, zoos attracted large crowds around the world. Because of that, everyone today has seen, been to, or heard of a zoo at least once in their lifetime.
