Thousands of horses get slaughtered each year-and are bought and sold.They are put into trailers upon trailers of horses and are holding hundreds of horses that,are a total of eight U.S. slaughterhouses most common on is canada and are trucked across the border or even shipped overseas to China.There isn’t a high demand of horse meat in the United States But the horses are sold for good money in the United States to be slaughter bound.Horses are bought for slaughtered are a price range from 100 to 500 dollars. They can not be slaughter right when you buy them the horses have to be in someone’s possession for 6 months before they cross the border to Canada or any other place to go for the fact of disease.Which is why the meat is sold to exported countries like China,And to European countries because they get more money for the horses than they do in the United States. They are a flight animal and therefore people are higher in the food chain. Horses were originally used in the war and were also used to feed the soldiers after the war a lot of the horses had killed/died and they really didn’t need the horses for war. They could have only used them for carrying supplies,food.
They didn’t seem to have a problem eating horses back then why do we have a problem with it now?There are good aspects in horse slaughter the meat that is produced can go to a family that can’t afford it.It can be donated to a homeless shelter to people that don’t have a whole lot
