Persuasive Speech on Poverty Linking to Alcoholism Look around you. People are suffering from poverty. Many children starve to death because their parents cannot afford to support them. Worse, either or both of their parents suffer from alcohol problems. Undeniably, alcohol immensely influences the economic status of people. In turn, economic status also affects the use of alcohol in various ways. How does this scenario affect us? The answer is simple: we cannot let other people suffer when we can do something about it. This is what social justice is all about. We must be advocates in giving everyone their due because this is not a matter of privilege. This is a matter of right. Through an organized and well-planned seminar, we are able to achieve our goal (MacLedo, 2011). The class will be divided into three groups. The first group will be assigned to invite people who are suffering from poverty and alcohol use. The second group will focus more on how the program will be conducted. The third group will be the one to solicit certain amount from other organizations which are willing to take part in this endeavor. Aside from the money that we are able to raise, we can also contribute so that our activity will be well-funded. The seminar will be scheduled on a weekend and it will be a whole day activity. Through this, we can promote social justice by giving resolution to poverty linking to alcoholism. And at the same time, we can value the future of those who suffer from poverty. Aside from that, we will also invite a guest speaker to grace our event. This activity will not cost us too much because all we have to do is invite people, provide them with snacks, and give them the necessary information they need so that they become enlightened. We should be the catalyst of change. Our organization cannot do it alone. Hence, we are asking for your support. Together as one, let us spread social justice.
