PATS uses different classifications to keep check on the type of permit to be issued. e.g. Faculty, Commuter (General), Residential, Reserved, Not Registered, Admin etc. General permit holders can park in reserve after 5pm (excluding handicap, admin, Gannett Hall loading dock etc.) The handicap parking pass is part of a federal civil rights law - ADA.
I am writing on behalf of the 8th Grade Class at Monticello Trails Middle School to share with you why Kansas should have its own addition in the Goodnight Series. I understand that the book publishing process can take a great deal of time, but there are a plentiful amount of reasons for why it will be worthwhile in the end. Kansas is a unique state, with many fantastic attractions and features, so I’m certain you’ll see why once you hear what I have to say. Kansas has many appealing locations that would be great to feature in the book. It appears to be that there are four states in the United States that do not have their own book, with Kansas being one of them.
The teacher in hand gets reserved parking whereas his/her students have to park at the back of the lot and even down the road at the gravel parking lot. The students are the ones going to work so they should get some sort of priority parking. Another thing is the ridiculous law that we cannot pull through spaces, as one student says “It’s annoying, we should be able to pull through spaces to park straight” (Eddy 2015). Most students would agree with this especially when it comes to parking the larger vehicles like f-150 ’s

PAGE 2 Day Shelby Day Mrs. Bauch Speech May 11, 2016 Persuasive Speech How many of you eat fast food? How many of you leave school during your lunch break to eat elsewhere? Today I am going to be persuading you about the dangers of open campus lunches.
Have you ever had a problem outside of school during school lunch that you had to address but you couldn’t? If you did then that sucks because you have to do what you have to but you shouldn’t have the school holding you back from the problem. Students should be able to leave school’s campus during lunch because everyone doesn’t eat school lunch and a student should be able to handle a problem or run a quick errand. Students should be able to leave campus for lunch because everyone doesn’t eat school food.
I have been a police officer for about two years and one of my pet peeves is unauthorized vehicles parked in the disabled parking spaces. I have a child who is disabled and to see a vehicle that is parked illegally in a disabled parking zone is something that hits my nerves. I am about to meet up with some of my friends for lunch at a very popular restaurant in town. As I pull into the parking lot, I noticed a vehicle parked in the disabled parking zone.
Imagine you are running behind schedule due to heavy traffic, but finally arrive onto campus with mere minutes to spare. You avoided road rage to suddenly notice that there is no where you can possibly park. If you have not had the pleasant opportunity to experience such a stressful scenario, then you are very fortunate. However, if you have experienced the hassle of overcrowded parking lots, then you are aware and can relate to the issues of this matter. The campus parking lots are utilized by both faculty, staff, and students for the duration of that day, but by night the lots are as a deserted island inhabited by only those that reside on campus.
Would you want to live in fear? Especially at a place that you feel safe. A place that you are required to go to by law. A place that children roam the hallways, learning and having fun. Can you imagine, going to this place every day, until one.
Racism and equality have something that has been going on for a long time now, dating back to all the way when Martin Luther King gave his “I have a dream” speech. The topic racism is something that needs to be changed; we do not need it in the world we live in right now with everything that has been going on. The major thing that is going on right now is the topic of how cops treat African Americans. We have seen many cases of the cops shooting and killing blacks the past few years, and it is something that is becoming a major issue.
Okay look. I’m going to ask a question. Think hard and give a honest answer. How would it feel to know that you were frowned upon because of your skin color? Not cool, right?
Envision waking up every morning to put on the same outfit and walk out the door, stress free. People would not have to worry about what fits, or what is fashionable at the time. Schools would not have to worry about inappropriate clothing but at the same time, that clothing may be a way for a student to express himself. Many schools view uniforms as a solution to several problems, but many schools view uniforms as a lack of self expression. School uniforms should continue, even though children may not get to express themselves, because they prohibit violence, provide cheaper lifestyles, and promote better education.
You might be thinking about the schools that rich kids go to in movies and TV shows or you might be thinking about Catholic schools with small children all wearing the same colored school uniforms. This is probably what most people imagine. We associate uniforms with students of foreign countries and private schools. Thoughts of students dressing in school uniforms have led to stereotyping and a gloomy outlook on schools pushing for a uniform policy. We live in a society that says you must express yourself and be an individual at all cost, but some fear that uniforms display us as robots who lack the ability to express ourselves, however, this is far from the truth.
