First, we all know that homelessness is a problem on the streets of not just the United States, but the world. And, I believe most of it comes due to economic hardships, mental issues, and/or just pure laziness. Needless to say, I know that some of these individuals have nowhere to go. It is the only place they can find shelter and food. And, this action to me is what Charles Darwin calls, “The Survival of the Fittest”.
Poor physical and mental health, restricted access to chances for education and employment, and an increased likelihood of participation with the criminal justice system are all consequences of homelessness. The entire community is affected, therefore it's not simply an issue for the person. What can we do to address this then? In order to confront this problem and create answers, society as a whole must assume responsibility. Our efforts must be coordinated in order to increase young people's employment possibilities, make housing more affordable, and offer homeless individuals support services.

The number of homeless people sleeping on the streets of the United States hasn't changed over the years. Many people use the least effective ways in helping the homeless. On the other hand, the most effective ways in helping the homeless are: giving homeless people a voice, giving the homeless access to shelters without being judged on how they behave, and supporting the non-profit organizations that want to end homelessness. A great way to help the homeless is giving homeless people a voice.
Is it right to not help these people? The people who are vulnerable, need support and encouragement to navigate through their lives. Do we just throw them to the side and forget about them? New York City is seen as a beautiful place to visit but the reality is there’s an ugly side to the city and it’s known as homelessness. In New York it is so common to see a homeless person in the train station or on a train and on the streets sleeping. This problem has been increasing ever since the Great Depression and we need to do something to decrease the number of this population and put a full stop to it. The majority of the New Yorkers just walk past them and instead of giving them left overs they decide to throw out the food and keep moving. Not only are these people suffering due to hunger, extremely poor hygiene and inhumane living conditions but they are also victims of assault and discrimination.
