Hello Friends and Family,
As most of you already know, I have moved to Turkey temporarily to be with my love, Emrem. But before I moved here, I was searching for a grassroots effort to help Syrian refugees and came up empty.
We all see the terrible footage online and I know we want to donate but larger NGOs or nonprofits often leave us wondering how much of our donations actually make it to those in need. But wonder no more!
Thanks to an amazing Hungarian-Romanian Teacher, Zsusza Nago, this gap has been closed. She has single-handedly established a network with the refugees and I admire her so much for it so I would love to help her raise money of which 100% goes directly to the those in need. She takes no money for herself or her overhead.

Turkey has absorbed 3 million Syrian refugees and their road to employment is arduous. The latest conflict area, Idlib was just infiltrated by friendly forces last week and the conflict has caused many to flee to Turkey. They have arrived with only what they could carry on their backs so have absolutely nothing to start their new lives. Some families sleep on dirt floors, can 't produce milk for their babies or afford formula, it 's really heart-wrenching.
Unfortunately, there aren 't many official paths for refugees to get things like in US (e.g. GoodWill, Salvation Army), so they solely rely on donations and the money they earn from doing odd jobs. They need things like beds, dressers, fridges and washing machines (there are no laundrymats here) in addition to food and water.
I am asking (begging) my network to help. 100% of any money donated here will go directly to the refugees in the form of gift cards for BIM (the local Aldi), and transportation for the large donated items (beds, fridges, etc). I 've set the goal pretty low but $200 would buy 15 gift cards. Each gift card would be with 50 Turkish Lira which is about $13 USD and that is enough to feed a family for 2
