Education and Learning Philosophy As a prospective educator, I align curricular ambitions for achievement with a consideration for the unique identities of those whom I will be teaching. I gravitate substantially toward the care pedagogy approach to education. By incorporating care pedagogy into the classroom, opportunities for relationship building amongst the educator and the students can be supported. I will concentrate on guiding my actions and decisions based on the expressed needs of my students, regardless if the indicated need stems from a positive or negative origin. The method of care pedagogy, in my opinion, creates an inclusive classroom that considers all the diverse experiences, backgrounds, and viewpoints of the students. It is one thing to imagine how a child learns, it is another thing to see it occur, daily, if not hourly. As a parent, I saw what worked for a young mind, what did not, and what could be adapted to allow for learning. This also allowed me to readjust my own mindset. I no longer cared only for myself, but for another human being too. As an educator, I imagine that this occurs similarly with students, but at least twenty more minds all at once. I have a better understanding of what can make a young mind frustrated, joyful, or concerned. As a parent, I have a perspective of how I can adapt to make learning applicable for young minds while multi-tasking. I am aware that not all educators are parents, nor do they need to be. I am also aware that my actions in the classroom will represent a principal some students may not be receiving at home. If a student does not feel safe or loved at home, then I want them to feel safe and loved in my classroom so that they are able to achieve every academic and social goal provided to
