Teachers normally know what is best for their students.. Students know a lot more than you think they do. Kids probably know more than what their parents think they know, kids are exposed to a lot of different language in high school than normal. Teenagers have internet, cell phones, ipads, and a lot more than their parents did when they were young. Young people don’t realize how good their life is now days that they have.
A school based community would need to be form to help improve the school. The school based community will involve everyone in the decision making process. I would seek feedback from parents to see what they expect from the school. A discussion of how teachers and parents can contribute to the vision will also be added. The stakeholders will have to understand their roles in order for process to be successful.

Because of the diversity that exists among our student population, it is important to offer an education that meets those diverse needs. This desire manifests itself in many ways, yet at its core is building relationships with students and teachers and then extending these relationships to families and the community. With students, I seek to be visible, greeting the students at the door and working to learn their names. When discipline is necessary, I believe that restorative correction is the best avenue to change behaviors while maintaining relationships. As teachers spend the most time with students during a typical school day, they are essential team members in improving educational outcomes and promoting an inclusive culture. I detail my strategies for working alongside teachers in the subsequent question; however, I strive to support them by creating a culture of trust, safety, training, and collaboration through professional learning communities.
A child’s education is affected by various elements such as gender, race, environment, economic factors, privilege, and more. These elements shape the outcome of a student’s educational experience and learning. They also determine what and how students will learn. In order to create an appropriate learning environment, there should be a sense of community. In other words, the common goal should be helping students succeed and reach their maximum potential.

1. A description of how the PLC concept is employed at your school. Professional Learning Communities (PLC) takes careful planning and collaboration among all staff members. However, once the foundation is built the benefits will be very rewarding for all. The PLC employed at my school will consist of my staff, which is kindergarten through grade six.
