Three Kansas City police score unit officer’s Jeffrey M. Bell, Dustin Sillings, and Darryl M. Forrest were charged with theft of federal government property, conspiracy against rights and deprivation of rights under color of the law. The Kansas City police officer were caught by FBI (Federal bureau of Investigation). The Kansas City police officers stole several items and cash in a house that had surveillance cameras during a staged sting operation. The type of situation always makes people wonder what would make these people want to do something like this? Why would the officers discarded their commitment to the city to protect and serve as they swore to do so?
Once hired as an active officer, the individual must complete 40 hours of in-service, advanced, specialized, or career development training every 4 years including retraining in use of force and firearms qualification. The promotional opportunities and assignments for the TPD are a permanent elevation in rank from Police Officer to Detective/Corporal or Police Detective/Corporal to Police Sergeant, or Police Officer to Police Flight Officer, etc. For assignments, the position of School Resource Officer, Chief Pilot, Flight Supervisor and any acting position is deemed to be assignments and the assignments to or transfer from such position goes directly to the Chief of Police. One area of the TPD that got my attention was the Police Athletic League (PAL). This was organized as a crime prevention enterprise dealing with juvenile crime and violence through education, academically, and athletically based around sports resources.
I wish to be considered for an assignment as a Lieutenant within the Fusion Liaison & Intelligence Training Unit, Regional Operations & Intelligence Center. Enlisted members of the Fusion Liaison & Intelligence Training Unit have the fundamental responsibility of providing intelligence support, threat assessments, and crime-pattern analysis to law enforcement agencies. A Lieutenant in this unit must have certain experience and qualities suited to the work product of the unit. I believe my previous work experience in the ROIC, Electronic Surveillance Unit and my current role as the Assistant Unit head of the MAPPS/Special Projects Unit as well as the Risk Assessment Core Group ( RACG) Leader has prepared me for the position of Lieutenant
Court Holds FBI’s Gender-Based Physical Training Standards Constitutional On January 11th, the United States 4th Circuit Court held in Bauer v. Lynch (attorney general) that the FBI did not violate Title VII rules against sex discrimination when it applied different physical standards to men and women. In Bauer, Bauer failed the FBI Academy when he was unable to complete the thirty push ups required of male trainees (completing twenty-nine). He thereafter filed a Title VII action alleging the FBI discriminated against him on the basis of sex, because female trainees are only required The district court granted Bauer’s motion for summary judgment.
Some police departments use physical standards to legal discriminate against female candidate and this should not be allowed because even if it’s legal discrimination that’s still discrimination. Men are always going to be physically stronger than women that’s how they are built. Some examples of test that discriminate against women are test the involve upper body strength like pull ups, outdated test that have been used for years but have not been updated and “obstacle courses or tests with one cut-off score for everyone, regardless of sex or age” ("Know Your Rights”) In her article for the Gazette, a Colorado Springs newspaper, Debbie Kelly wrote about physical fitness testing being suspended for all of Colorado Springs police officers
Headstrong in the face of adversity, they took an oath and they will uphold it. At least a vast majority of them. Officers have achieved a bad rap in the past couple years because of a few legitimate bad apples and primarily the media trying their damnedest to paint a poor picture wherever possible of police. The false misconception created from this narrative has garnered enough attention that the positive and hard work officers do everyday seems to have been forgotten. People hastily right officers off as it seems so easy and then when they need them the most, they are left no choice but to ask for help from the same officers they just wrote off.
April 29 1992, four Los Angeles policemen were acquitted of the savage beating of Rodney King an African-American man. Caught on camera by a bystander, graphic video of the attack was broadcast into homes across the nation. Anger in response to the acquittal, stoked by years of racial and economic inequality in the city, spilled over into the streets of Los Angeles. The result was five days of rioting. The riots sparked a national conversation about racial and economic disparity and ignited police use of force that still continues.
Excessive Use of Force by Law Enforcement The use of excessive force by law enforcement has been a topic of heated debate and controversy in the United States for decades. It is a complex issue with various factors contributing to it, including systemic racism, police training, accountability, and the lack of adequate laws and policies. The use of excessive force by law enforcement has disproportionately affected people of color, particularly Black Americans, and has led to countless deaths and injuries. Systemic racism is one of the primary factors contributing to disputes surrounding excessive use of force by law enforcement.
Athletic participation at all ages has increased tremendously over the years. Student-athletes are working harder to become bigger, stronger and faster. As the number of athletes rise in schools, so does the chance of athletic related injuries. This is leading to the increase number of athletic trainers at the high school level across the country. Athletic trainer is defined as a “health care professional who collaborates with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation” (AMA 19).
To do this job you must be not only physically fit, but mentally fit as well. You must be able to pass a medical exam and you will need to pass a background check with flying colors. The FBI sets very high standards for their employees. So if you are looking to get in it would be very ideal for you to try to be as good as possible in all the categories they look for, and in some they
During BLET, students learn the ends and outs of the law, but also go through firearms training, drive training, and physical fitness training. At the end of BLET all students must pass a standardized fitness test called the POPAT. The POPAT generally consists of a total of 200 yards of running, running up stairs, push-ups, sit-ups, body drag, and pushing through a weighted door. A study conducted in Texas concluded that 95% of police departments use a physical ability test for hiring (Bisset, D., Bisset, J., & Snell, 2012). Likewise, agencies that hire officers who do not meet physical fitness standards can be held responsible if injuries occur from an officer not being able to handle a physically demanding situation, that the officer should be able to control (Bisset et al.,
enforcement agencies are required to create policies and procedures that will facilitate the recruitment of prospective Asian-American police candidates. Learning Journal unit3 Roman classical art and architecture had a significant impact on Christian art and architecture. The second and first decades of the third centuries saw the emergence of a distinctively Christian form of art. (Farber, undated) The early Christians' use of the same artistic medium to convey the significance of their religion and encourage additional conversions is when the Romans' effect on the development of Christian art was at its greatest. They employed murals, mosaics, sculptures, and illuminated manuscripts.
magine a world without laws, Imagine people being able to commit crimes without anything being done, Imagine how all this important information about laws and why we have them would be nothing in the world today. Crimes are committed on a daily basis, but the law does everything to help those people who are in danger of committing those crimes by stopping them before it’s too late. sometimes the crimes are committed before the law can get to them so enforcement takes the job of taking their freedom away for them. Law Enforcement is important because without it everyone would be afraid of life. Everyone needs it for as long as Humanity exists because as humans people create mistakes that can severely harm and hurt others.
