People interpret and pursue physical and psychological fears in different ways including movies, television shows, and places or objects that have some horrifying meaning or story behind them. Most people prefer physical fear to psychological fear because they are able to recognize their reaction to it. People enjoy the fear that is exhilarating and easily acquirable. Another person can easily trigger a physical fear and see the reaction that they cause, making these types of fear more accepted and exciting than psychological fears.
A physical fear is the fear of an object, person, or place. Examples include the fear of fire, crowds, or heights. Media often portrays physical fear with death in gory and disgusting ways. The displays of fear in the modern world are in place to terrify and intrigue people. Going into a haunted house triggers physical fears because there are people there purposefully to scare you, although you know they will not really hurt you. When the choice is made to enter a haunted house someone is allowing their physical fears to scare them and they enjoy that fear. These physical fears are easier to understand because they are real and present in the world around us, unlike psychological fears.
