The field of exercise science is broad but contains a wide scope of occupational practices that embody health, fitness, and physical movement. Exercise science is a field that aids and provides adequate health care through various occupations. Some examples of these include physical therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, athletic and personal trainers, positions in sport medicine, and more. As specific as these examples seem, the occupations can be explored in a deeper way. For instance, the profession of physical therapy possesses categories of specialities within it that enhance and understand more knowledge in a specific grouping. More and more children are needing physical therapy because of the realization from families of how much treatment can benefit their children. In other words, parents may not even know or understand how beneficial physical therapy can be for children. From improving overall range of motion and flexibility, assisting with balance, and fine tuning their motor skills, kids can only benefit from physical therapy. According to the article, Steps to Become a Pedatric Physical Therapist: Education and Training, “jobs for PTs in general are likely to increase by 21% between 2020 and 2030, says the BLS and the opportunities are expected to be good in all settings, including rual areas, due to a high population of PTs living in cities and suburban locations (“Steps to Become a Pediatric Physical Therapist: Education and Training, n.d., page 1). These statistics show how many jobs are available and how many places, like hospitals, clinics, and schools, currently are and will continue to be looking for licensed physical therapists to work. The continued growth or need for sports physical therapists will not plateu and will only continue to increase. This can be proven because sports are extremely popular activities that take place all around the world and that almost all people love. Therefore, sports will not be going away and will continue to take place every single day by kids, adults, and even the elderly. Sport physical therapists will always be needed because of this to prevent injuries, provide rehabilitation techniques, and assessing plans for athletes. Injury prevention is a big pro for the patients that are being treated by sports physical therapists. When athletes are able to see a physical therapist as part of their every day routine before practice and games, injury prevention can take place. Sport physical therapists can work with it’s athletes to create plans to reduce pain in certain areas of the body ahead of time, in case of an injury. Therefore, if an injury does occur, the plan can already be developed and be in place to minimize time off of the sport. Not only can plans to prevent injuries be done, but according to the article, Sports Physical Therapy, “certain types of analysis can be developed to understand how an athlete’s body is working and make recommendations on improving performance safely” (“Sports
