QUESTION 1 : Explain the following concepts in your own words [ 50 ] A) Cyberbullying To bully someone means to hurt a person either physically or emotionally. Cyberbullying refers to someone who terrorizes their victim with the use of technology devices. Cyberbullying takes place when a person is being harassed, threatened or intimidated by another person using electronic communication like cell phones, instant messaging, e-mail, chat rooms or social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. This includes when someone makes threats, sending inappropriate or provocative insults like racial comments, trying to infect a persons’ computer with viruses or sending e-mails just to make a person’s mailbox full. A person’s body image are determined by how they see, feel or think about their own body. People usually compare themselves to what other people (celebrities or friends) look like or how others see them. Everybody have days when they feel uncomfortable or unsatisfied with their own bodies, but it is important to always to see your natural beauty and develop a positive body image. People with a positive body image are true to themselves and see their body as it really is. They understand that there is more to a person than just their physical appearance and appreciate their natural shape. A positive body image make you feel comfortable and let you walk with confidence and not worry about the calories or food you eat. A person with a negative body image does not see their body as it really is and have a distorted perception of their body shape. They see their body size or shape as a sign of personal failure and think only other people are attractive. This stage is about thought and hypothetical reasoning and begins at the age of twelve and lasts into adulthood. Thinking is much more sophisticated and advanced knowing that adolescents have entered this stage. Teenagers come up with creative solutions to problems by using their logic or thinking about theoretical and abstract concepts. In this final stage, teenagers show concern for social issues and are able to deal with a large amount of variables at one time. Not only are they critical and analytical towards themselves and others, but also question instructions and convictions of adults. They like to question their parents authority and will start to ask some important questions like; “Why is there so many homeless people?” Furthermore are they able to reason deductively and believe that everyone is watching them. The adolescents will get more confused and frustrated the more logical inconsistencies they notice. The generation gap is caused by these formal operations, because of the teenager’s newly gained reasoning abilities.
