With commercial aircraft, weather, range, and weight typically aren’t an issue. This usually makes them more attractive for longer trips. Typically, the animal is either held in the cabin, or in the cargo hold underneath the passengers. Shipping in the cargo hold is done via the airline’s pet shipping program. To go through this procedure, one should make a reservation a day or more in advance. Prices range from $50-300, or can be free if you work for an airline, and are usually based off of weight.
