"Woah! That’s a nice dog!" A plethora of people believe that pit bulls are terrifying and aggressive dogs that attack people even when they didn’t cause any conflict between the two of them. Even though people believe that, I am here to tell you that pit bulls are fantastic dogs. To begin with, pit bulls are believed to have horrible and reckless behavior.
So what’s your opinion on Pit bulls? I bet I can change it. Did you know that the Pit bull is not one specific breed? The Pit bull consists of many different kinds of strong, bulky, muscular dogs.
These dogs have again and again proved themselves to be loving dogs, but society does not give them a chance. The people assume things about the Pit bull but they are wrong. Pit bulls have created a bad reputation throughout the years, but is it really their fault? This breed of dog can be harmful, or harmless, depending on how they are raised. Owning a pitbull is smart move because they are good with people and children, obedient, and easy to train. The dogs are just so great with people depending on how they are raised and trained. The way humans behave is what leads up to “companion animal attacks” (Time). People are able to have good relationships with pit bulls though.

When some people are scared of something they act strange around it. Acting strange around pit bulls might cause them to react in bad ways toward you.
All dogs can be mean and vicious, not just pit bulls. Most people think that as soon as they see a pit bull it 's going to attack you for no reason. But really pit bulls are born very nice and efficient to people. Other people train dogs to fight not just pit bulls. In fact, the top ten dog breeds have dogs, you wouldn 't think would be on it, Pitbull, Rottweiler, Husky, German Shepherd, Alaskan malamute, Doberman, chow chow, great dane many more.
In the media and the pit bull, James Cross said “News outlets consistently tell animal control officers that they will not cover a dog attack unless the situation involves a pit bull”. If the media is only shown how bad Pit bulls are then they think they are aggressive dogs and other dogs are great. Pit bulls are not aggressive, the media makes it look that way so don't believe
Many cities have banned pit bull breeds believing them to be vicious/ dangerous breeds one city that city that has done so is Miami, according to Warnes “pit bulls have a reputation for aggression and many municipalities have ordinances either forbidding pit bull ownership outright or imposing restriction on ownership” (Salem Press Encyclopedia). Many pit bulls have ended up in shelters facing the possibility of euthanasia. Dogs identified as Pit bulls are amongst the highest breeds to get euthanized across the United States.
It’s all how they are raised. I know a lot of people that have them. “My uncle for one has 2 pit bulls. They are very gentle and loving. Their names are Shadow and Dingo.
Pit bulls, should we ban them? You may know the American Pit Bull Terrier’s have been to bred to fight but this is not true. Pit bulls were not bred for fighting they were bred to work and herd cattle. They only got their bad reputation as fighting dog because of the owners who trained them to be mean and aggressive.
