The existence of a PKM God and the existence of evil on earth have created an incredibly debated topic. For many people, they especially have a hard time trying to justify and understand why God would allow such evil to exist in the world. Evil, in this respect, is defined as cruel, heinous, and unjustified suffering. People simply cannot understand how they can co-exist, so they seek to justify the actions of this God that promises love but doesn’t quite deliver. However, in this paper I do not seek to reconcile the two seemingly opposing concepts, but rather argue for the complete negation of a morally perfect God based solely on the presence of the evil seen in this world.
The problem of evil begins with the idea of an all powerful, all knowing, and perfectly moral God. This God, known as the PKM God, is at the root of the problem of evil. They will continue on in the justification-seeking quest trying to find excuses for the actions of a non-existent God. They will claim that there is purpose to evil. They will also claim that there is something to be learned from evil. However, more often than not, the people who tend to think this way do so as privileged onlookers of the suffering that is elsewhere. In other words, they believe that evil is necessary so that they themselves can be able to know what good is, or how good they have it. They view the suffering and pain of others as a way for them to get a learning experience, as if there were no other way. When horrible destruction occurs in the world it selfdom makes a huge impact to outsiders. It is always the ones that are directly involved that get to see raw and unforgiving evil up-close, the kind of evil that outsiders could never fully
