Planned Parenthood v. Casey was a Supreme Court case that originated in the area of Southeastern Pennsylvania when one of these nationwide organizations, Planned Parenthood, decided to argue against the limitations put into place regarding abortion by Governor Robert P. The goal is to defund Planned Parenthood for a year which means tax payers would stop paying. They want this to stop because this organization supports abortions and they are responsible for more than 300,000 of them per year in which they receive hundreds of millions tax payer dollars (http://www.focusonthefamily.com/socialissues/promos/defund-planned-parenthood). As I’m thinking about the steps in how a bill becomes a law, there are many factors that can help/hurt it. First off, a bill is introduced by a senator or representative (pg. 195).
With the attack on Planned Parenthood and regarding the video scandal which blew Planned Parenthood in the spotlight once again, is the problem its self that checking the facts are number one. People are so quick to see a video about an unborn child and act, without checking the facts. With Planned Parenthood they do perform abortions, yes but safe legal abortions they do use tissue and organs from these abortions to do lifesaving scientific research they also don’t mention in the video that the patients and the woman and families they make the decision to donate the fetal tissue, for research “this research should be honored not attacked and demeaned. “ What the facts don’t show in this edited video, which actually the video is over three
There have been many legal cases dealing with abortion and the laws restricting it. Some of those cases are: Gonzalez v. Carhart and Whole Woman’s Health Care, Planned Parenthood v. Casey, and Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade was an abortion case held in 1973 that was tried because of the abortion laws and the requirements to get one. Roe claimed that the laws violated her constitutional rights. The Law at that time was that you could only get an abortion if your life was in danger, Roe said although her life was not in danger that she should not afford the expenses of traveling out of state for the abortion.
Numerous attempts have been made to define the term fetus. Scholars have attempted to use both biological and psychological aspects, some have gone further to outline characteristics and conditions that define a fetus (Garrett et al., 2011). Others have tied the developmental aspects related to viability, birth and conception. The United States Supreme Court definition provides an alternate decision. The case of Planned Parenthood vs. Casey and Roe vs. Wade best defines a fetus in terms of viability (Nocon, 2010).
In light of the recent “controversy” surrounding Bernie Sanders and Planned Parenthood, I feel that it’s necessary to point out the mans incredibly consistent record in support women’s issues and the right to choose. Bernie Sanders is a staunch believer in the fact that women should have the fundamental right to control their bodies when it comes to sexual and reproductive health. He’s received both a 0 percent rating from The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), and a 100 percent rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America. According to The NRLC, Sanders has voted against the pro-life position more than 100 times in his federal legislative career. Hello Mr. Loa, When I originally chose my topic for writing project two, i was stuck between the effects Barbie has on our self-esteem and the federal funding of Planned Parenthood. I chose the topic about Barbie because I figured no one else would do it and it wouldn 't be redundant, but because it is such a unique topic, I 'm having trouble finding articles on it. Would it be okay if I changed my topic to Planned Parenthood, which had ample articles on it? And if I am allowed to change it, would I have to send you another topic proposal memo? Samantha

Three percent of Planned Parenthood’s patients in the year 2105 went there for an abortion. Since Donald Trump does not agree with three percent of what this helpful, non-profit organization does, he has promised that when he takes office, it will be defunded by the government, who is Planned Parenthood’s leading donor by a landslide. Does Donald Trump know he would have nearly no supporters if people just dropped him because they did not agree with three percent of every single thing he says or does? Planned Parenthood has been around for 100 years and has helped many women, old and young, with affordable health care. Whether it be for PAP tests, breast exams, contraceptives, or even a young teen going in to learn about preventative health
In 2003, Pro-Choice America held a meeting in Washington D.C. to celebrate the thirteenth anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision. While meeting at this celebratory event, they expressed their beliefs on the use of artificial wombs. The abortion rights group Pro-Choice America made a warning that women's rights are in danger and the use of artificial wombs will prohibit them from being able to choose whether or not they would want to abort their child (Zimmerman, paragraph 1). With the use of artificial wombs, an unwanted fetus could be removed from a woman and placed into an ectogenesis chamber to continue to live, grow, and be adopted later, rather than being aborted. This could be considered as an invasion of a woman’s privacy as her initial plan is to have the baby aborted, but instead, the baby is placed in the ectogenesis chamber (Zimmerman, paragraph 9).
