Plato's Influence On The Cave

Plato, who was a western well known writer has influenced other writers through his texts and philosophical explanations. As a founder of western philosophy and of the universe, he has expressed these issues through his famous allegory entitled, The Cave. Plato strived to enlighten people to become educated and communicate with people, who lacked the apprehension of reality. Plato states, “This image then, dear Glaucon, we must apply as a whole to all that has been said, likening the region revealed through sight to the habitation to the prison, and the light of the fire in it to the power of the sun” (107). When one of prisoners was fortunate enough to escape from the fetter, he walked around the gloomy cave until he saw the outside world.
