The ancient Greek god Hades, also known as Pluton, was the god of the underworld and of wealth. Hades was described as being stern, unpitying and unmoved by prayer but not really evil. He was mainly interested in increasing the number of people in his kingdom of the dead. He always wanted to be by himself and hardly left the Underworld. His only companions were his wife and his three-headed dog. He was a wealthy man and was sometimes greedy. Hades had a rough, long beard and wore a black robe. He wore black armor and a black cloak when in battle or when he was in any place other than the Underworld. He had an iron helmet that turned him invisible when he wore it.
