“On Turning Ten” is a poem by Billy Collins. I chose this poem because it captures the feeling of growing up and also the whole process of leaving your childhood behind which is something I strongly relate to. I also like how the poem is almost like a conversation which makes it seem like the author is talking directly to the reader and mentions the downside of growing up and having to let go. Another thing I like is how there's a lot of imagery and this helps bring the author's memories to life.
