On April 15 2015 runners from all over line up to start the race. They would be running 26.2 miles on this day. They all thought that when they crossed the finish line it would be the happiest time to know that they finished. For some runners this was true, but for others it sadly was not. As some of the runners crossed the finish line at 2:50 two bombs went off. Later that day Former President Obama made a speech. He talked about how strong boston is and that boston is so welcoming too the people. People leave with a part of boston no matter how long they stay. Obama’s speech conveys that even though boston went through a tough time they still can come together and how bostan will come out ahead Obama does this by using inspiring stories and connecting to the family's that lost a loved one or too the people who were injured. …show more content…

He Talks about how when people come to boston they leave with a part of it. Obama does this in a way that is hear touching.In his speech it says “ So whether folks come here to Boston for just a day, or they stay here for years, they leave with a piece of this town tucked firmly into their hearts.” The point obama is trying to make is that boston has so much history that no matter how long you stay you will leave with a part of it weather it be knowledge or a new found interest. He also use the story of Dick Hoyt. In his speech he says “In the words of Dick Hoyt, who has pushed his disabled son Rick in 31 Boston marathons, we can't let something like this stop us.This doesn't stop us. And that's what you've taught us, Boston.That's what you've reminded us, to push on, to persevere, to not grow weary, to not get faint even when it hurts.” Obama used this story too show us how strong the people of boston are.
