This paper will be discussing how the Vietnam war and Kent state shooting tie together and how it affected lives afterwards. The Kent State Shooting on May 4, 1970 was a culmination of the anti war movement because Four Kent state students were killed protesting the invasion of Cambodia during the Vietnam war. The Vietnam war was fought between North and South Vietnam. The United States, along with other countries such as the Philippines were on the side of South Vietnam.
Police pursuits leads to more charges, takes dangerous criminals off the streets immediately, and quick recovery of stolen property. Once people begin to find out that there is a “no pursuit policy”, more and more people will fail to stop for the police and quick results for victims of burglaries, assaults and others. The cons of policing pursuits are as followed.
Hazards of Police Pursuits Police pursuits consist of a fleeing suspect, an officer and many innocent bystanders. Although we cannot alter the actions made by those fleeing suspects during a pursuit; changes as to how they are pursued can be made. The innocent bystanders and officers become victims of this pursuit by having their lives put in danger. The officer essentially creates hazards during the pursuit with his speed, emotions involved and lack of training. Fleeing suspects are not concerned with the safety of others or themselves, therefore they travel at high speeds which evidently calls for the officer to do the same.
After conducting my research, I will analyze the officer involved shooting incident that occurred in Nashville a little over forty days ago between Officer Joshua Lippert and Jocques Clemmons (Cardenas, Alund, & Sawyer, 2017). On February 10, 2017 at approximately thirteen hundred hours Officer Joshua Lippert was involved in a shooting that took the life of Jocques Clemmons (Cardenas, Alund, & Sawyer, 2017). Initially we will examine the facts of the incident provided to the media followed by the public’s response. The initial circumstances released to the public regarding the incident were Officer Lippert initiated a traffic stop on Clemmons’ vehicle for failing to observe a posted stop sign (Cardenas, Alund, & Sawyer, 2017).
Mental illness significantly affects many around the world. In fact, about four-hundred and fifty million people worldwide suffer from one or more of the different known mental illnesses. That is one in every four people. Severe mental health issues such as severe anxiety disorder, antisocial personality disorder, schizophrenia, or sensory perception disorder are illnesses which are common among the people responsible for the numerous mass shootings in America. Many believe the possession of firearms in the hands of the mentally ill are the real cause of mass shootings.

" The law enforcement are allowed to use lethal, non-lethal force, physical, and verbal restraints. The amount of force used by the law can be depended by the situation they are currently in. While on duty, a officers are trained to judge when the situation requires a use of force.
Over the years, school safety has become more of an issue in the United States. Many have argued over the possible solutions for school safety. But through all the others, the only feasible solution is the use of metal detectors. Metal detectors have been known to increase safety when placed in an area that could be threatened. Metal detectors can protect schools from violence, especially from school shootings.

If every american was able to obtain a firearm imagine what the numbers of gun related deaths. Even gun related injuries caused many more hospital visits in america what many other common incidents. That is why america needs to implement tighter gun laws to reduce the amount of gun violence in America. Without this we will continue to see shooting, gun death, gun injuries resulting in more and more gun related violence.
Police Brutality is an ongoing problem and existent concern in the United States and should be resolved immediately. Law enforcement must function as an element that consists of organized and civilized officers. The presence of police brutality is becoming more of an issue as society grows. The problem posed by the illegal exercise of police power is an ongoing reality for individuals of a disfavored race, class, or sexual orientation. Police brutality must be stopped so that police do not forget who they are serving – not themselves, but the public.

Many schools in today’s society suffer from shootings at some point while children are attending school. Shootings in schools are not a new occurrence, and America has dealt with multiple shootings in public schools in which the lives of many children and teachers have been undeservingly taken (Elliott 528). Because of school shootings, this leaves our children in danger with no way to protect themselves. Gun violence in schools is an evident problem, and there are several ways to reduce the number of incidents, such as mental health screening for owners of guns, interconnectedness of communities, and more school funding.
Police brutality is when a police officer uses any type of force on someone that exceeds the necessary amount to accomplish a lawful police purpose. The force doesn’t have to just be physical, it can also be physiological harm through intimidation tactics. So in simpler terms, police brutality is when a police officer uses more force then what they should use to stop a person or animal. There is some ways that we can help prevent police brutality, one of the ways we can help prevent it is by giving police better training in a nonviolent way. This is especially important when dealing with violent animals.
Police deviance is something that isn’t particularly talked about in the open. The reactions to certain actions by the police are either kept under wraps or blown up in the media to a dramatic extent. The purpose of this paper is to focus on the negative side of police deviance and the repercussions that follow. This will allow some light to be shown on the actions of officers that don’t follow the rules that they set out to uphold.
