The Revolutionary war was revolutionary, especially for the colonies. This statement was supported by how much land was available to them, and even the prices of each everyday item differed. If the colonists didn’t win the revolution, or if the revolution didn’t take place, things would have turned out differently. Along with that, they were now independent, and not following their home country, England. Other lower class colonists felt more equal to rich and upper class colonists, as shown in Document 3, where the lower class colonists were shown enjoying a game with more upper class men, and most likely richer people.
The Revolutionary war began on April 19, 1775, and mainly took place in the New England and Middle Colonies. Was the colonist’s reasoning valid in breaking apart from Great Britain? The American colonists were justified in starting a revolution against Britain because of unfair taxes, unfair laws, and the fact that Britain ignored the colonists input. One reason the Revolutionary War was justified was that the colonists were unfairly taxed. Document 2 explains that Great Britain used the colonists for profit, and that all of the Acts put upon the colonies were to impose duties to the colonists.
The Revolutionary War was truly revolutionary. It created a change that changed how lived in the modern day. The Revolutionary War created change in jobs, wealth, government, and a change in freedom nationally and personally. The change in jobs occurred for many blacks and poor people, white and black. As it states in document #6, a young black free boy worked extremely hard and persisted to get a job, but no one would work with him due to his ethnicity.
As expected, Britain declared war on France in 1803 and would remain at war for over a decade. Both combatants struck at American neutral trade, trying to strangle each other economically. During this period of war, Napoleon and British leaders concentrated on European affairs, but the conflict spilled over into the sea at the Battle of Trafagar, British was the worst offender. The Royal Navy seized more than 500 vessels between 1803 and 1807. The United States succeeded in remaining neutral, but suffered from impressment, British seizure of British-born naturalized U.S. citizens into the British navy.
The colonists during the Revolutionary War wanted to be free from Britain rule and create a new government that would not only protect their citizen’s rights, but one that would not abuse its power. Colonists at this point in time were feeling that the British government had violated their rights since they were passing taxes without the colonists’ consent and not listening at all to the concerns of the colonists. Just like in Document 1 when it states “Sir William Meredith calls it a republic; but in its present state it is unworthy of the name, because the corrupt influence If the crown”. This displays the harsh governing that Britain applied to all of its colonists since they demanded that they stay influenced to the crown. Britain ended up
From the years 1775 to 1783 American colonists fought a war for independence against the authoritarian rule of the British. King George imposed unfair laws on the colonist while giving them no representation in parliament. The colonists were justified in their war against the British for many reasons, such as the Proclamation of 1765, the unfair acts placed on the colonists, and the Boston Massacre. Great Britain wanted American colonists to only live within their grounds. The Proclamation of 1763 restricted their ability to settle anywhere outside of the colonies, keeping them confined to the east coast.
All through history, wars have dependably been battled about the oppression of rulers, for example, the English common war. When they initially began, American provinces had what's coming to its of wars, for example, the French and Indian War, and the War of 1812. The revolutionary war was most striking in American history as it was the first occasion when somebody conflicted with their homeland, and roused different nations to do the same later on in time. The Patriots activities were legitimized amid American Revolution as the British were exhausting them without their assent, they abused the homesteaders without giving any regard, and they likewise gave brutal penalizing to the nationalists for their activities.
The Revolutionary war was massively revolutionary for the American colonies. After the war, many people’s lives were changed from horrible to somewhat better, even if it took 100 years like how women got their equal rights to men in 1920 (Document 8), how African Americans were all free and not slaves in 1865 (Document 5), how American Indians wern’t getting attacked anymore (Document 9), and how the richest people in the country became equal to some of the poorest people in the country in rights and in wealth(Document 2,3,4). This really impacted many lives for everyone and this all was changed or influenced by the outcome of the Revolutionary war. The lives of the people wasn’t the only thing that changed, but the politicians have changed
During the 17th century, the American colonies declared their independence from Great Britain. They waged war for eight years to obtain their independence, but soon came to a dilemma. The generals and political leaders behind the Revolutionary War were now in charge of thirteen different colonies without a form of government to keep law and order. They were going to have General George Washington become their new leader, however they soon realized that was just like the British monarchy they just seceded from. The Fathers gathered in Pennsylvania to sit together a write a formal government.
Georgina Casillas 10/19/17 Block 6 Were American colonists justified in fighting a war to break away from Britain? With a great sense of nationalism and pride in the year of 1763 colonists were celebrating the victory from the French and Indian war. This war left the British government in debt. The British tried to pay off the debt
The beginning of war, is the ending of life. The reason that war is death, is that the war of Valley Forge caused many to be deceased, and deceived. I have decided to not re-enlist into the Colonial Army because of sickness (Doc. C+A), Housing (Doc. D+B), and supply shortage (Doc. C+B). These reasons listed are big reasons that caused death, and sadness taking away loved ones and friends. This document about the Revolutionary War, will bring you to the place itself, living through the damages and sad doings this war brought.
The Revolutionary War was fought with the intention of emancipation of from a greater power and being able to enjoy the rights of self-government and self-determination. Many enslaved African Americans related to the rebel’s cause and their struggle to be free. They believe that once the United States gained its freedom, they would be freed as well. However this was not the case.
All people were looking for freedoms, ones not ever having a chance of happening in Great Britain. Men, women, and African Americans were all seeking new and different types of freedoms than those provided in the land they had left or been forced to leave. The colonists had the goals of gaining their rights and freedoms in waging the Revolutionary War they were aiming for a republican political system and leaving behind monarchy systems as they had planned when first coming to the United States. England had called themselves a republic, but the king had so much control it did not fall under the category of a republic. England was a monarchy just as well as France and Spain were and this is exactly what they wanted to avoid in the United States (Document 1).
Child Labor Child labor has been an issue in many countries for many years. Even though countries such as America has banned child labor, other poorer countries still struggle with child labor law.
