Some men dream of having more than one wife. One to clean, one to take care of the children, one to work and help take care of all the bills and that one sexy wife to fool around with at night. Now what man would not want that ? In my opinion more women equals more problems. More women means more to keep satisfied and most men cant keep one satisfied as it is. Polygamy is more that just that it is mainly practiced by the Mormon church. Which was founded by Joseph Smith in 1830, so it hasn’t been around as most other religions .The Mormons believe that a man must have at least three wives to achieve the" fullness of exaltation in the afterlife" Most Americans have and opinion on Polygamy such as myself that is against the practice. This raid was to eliminate the Polygamist in one small Arizona town at the cost of 50,000 dollars They began the raid at four O'clock in the morning on a Sunday.They Took 122 Mothers and Fathers to Jail that day, 36men and 86 women. Leaving all the children to be sent to foster homes. The officers thought that this raid would set and example and set some fear in the minds of other Polygamist around the country when all it did was send them father into being "Underground". This raid actually caused more problems than the state Law enforcement originally thought of. This caused 263 children to be separated from there parents. The police may have thought that this was a good thing but most foster homes and orphanages don’t treat the children as they should. These types of homes make the children feel as if they are not wanted and cause major problems with child's mental heath. Theses children was used to living in a polygamist environment. Clearly not all of the Mormon homes served danger to the children. I am sure that some of the homes was normal to the children and that the mothers and Father took great care of there children. Although Polygamy is illegal the government should have focused in on the houses that neglected the children and caused them harm. The women in Polygamy have babies with the same man but only the first wife is legally married to the man. Thus means that if a man has seven wives six of the women can file for single parent to there children and receive a big chunk of money at the end of the year and in welfare alone. One Polygamist Family in Utah had a household of about nine people and they combined received about 80,000 dollars a year. From the years 1972 to 1983 The Kingston clan which was already a wealthy family received almost 1 million dollars in government assistance. Even today that is a lot of money in just ten years for a middle class family. although in todays world to many people "Bleed the Beast " or milk off of the
