Reading this book, I was reminded of the life lessons I have learned growing up around horses and how much in common there is with the high-ends and people such as myself. Growing up, handling equine was just common knowledge for everyone, and because of that I’ve learned that there needs to be a bond and some trust between the rider and horse.
The Journey of Crazy Horse The Journey of Crazy Horse, written by Joseph Marshall III, uncovers the story of the legendary Crazy Horse and the Lakota Indians. In this book we are able to see and visualize a young Lakota boy named Light Hair transform throughout his life into the Native American legend Crazy Horse. Through this book, not only are we taken on a journey through American history, but also an understanding of the lives of Lakota Indians, and the negative effects of Americans. Marshall gives us an extremely expressive description of the Lakota life while also connecting it to his own life.
Crazy Horse or Cha-O-Ha (“In the Wilderness” or “Among the Trees”) was a Native American war leader of the Oglala Lakota. He took up arms against the U.S. Federal Government to fight them for encroachments on the territories and way of life of the Lakota people. This leads to a victory at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in June 1876. Four months after surrendering to General Cook in May of 1877, Crazy Horse was fatally wounded. He was wounded by a military guard while allegedly resisting imprisonment at Camp Robinson in present day Nebraska.
The snobby riders are the people that think that they are the best at everything. They don’t do anything with their horses because they feel like somebody else should take care of their horse. After riding, these people usually give their horse to the first person they see so that that person can unsaddled it, bathe it, etc. There are a few people at AZUCUS Ranch that are like this. For example, there is a girl named Elizabeth Wooten that is a snobby rider.
Shortly after a horse is born it should be trained without a saddle on the ground (Conditioning Young Horses” 3). This will teach a young horse to show respect for the trainer and give the horse a positive mindset. Exercising a young horse can be extremely beneficial for the development of their muscles, joints, and tendons (“Conditioning Young Horses 1”). The first three years of a horse’s life are very important for the mental and physical development of the young horse. A young horse will normally be easier to train under saddle once you have developed a relationship with the horse on the ground.
The American Paint Horse is a specific breed of a horse valued for their daring markings, color, and figure. People have numerous ways of telling apart Paints from the other different types of horse breeds. One of the ways of knowing if the horse is a Paint is by looking at the markings. Some of the markings include Tobiano, Overo, Tovero, and Solid Paint Horses; each of the horses come innumerable amounts of color. Horses come in several different types of families like the Black and Red Family.
Have you ever wondered where different breeds of horses originated from? There are over 350 breeds of horses in the world. They go from two feet tall to roughly seven feet tall. Horses are a very useful animal when it comes to almost anything. About a third of the horses in the world are used for recreational use.
In high school rodeo, I always do anything to make my equine athletes feel their best. Our horses travel together so much that they pretty become a team. My horses, parents, and myself are a great team. My parents and I take care of the horses, while the horses take care of us. The horses love their job and being able to have one instead of doing nothing.
So a horrible thing can happen to a person without them being there
I have taken part in the United States Pony Club for the last 10 years and it has shaped me into who I am today. The United States Pony Club has core values of education, safety, sportsmanship, stewardship and FUN. Only telling half the story, Pony Club puts kids ages 5 to 18 into "adult" situations, having them think for themselves, care for their horses, education themselves and their team. The main part I took from my time in Pony Club is the confrontation of adults in situations were you are forced to begin a discussion and have the adult agree with you in a respectful fashion. Pony Club is a place for children of all backgrounds to meet and talk while gaining experience and necessary teamwork skills for the rest of their life.
I have a friend that I ride horses with who breeds horses for a living, She bred her own horse and it is about a year old now and she plans on training it to jump when it reaches the proper age because that is what she bred it for. It is supposed to be a really really nice horse as well and doctors are very impressed my the way the hose is built. She makes me want to be a horse breeder because she got to basically make her own horse and she gets to have the horse its entire
Horse racing is a highly controversial topic in the equestrian world. Many people find horse racing as a great form of entertainment, while others see it as borderline abusive to the horse. Personally, I agree with the latter statement. Racehorses typically start their training at just 1 year old.
But before all that good fun stuff, you start from the bottom which would be feeding, cleaning, grooming and soon enough make your way to the top with riding, training, and dressage. But no need to worry like I’ve said before you don’t need a college diploma/degree. You can learn by what’s called on-the-job training you’ll start off like an equine/apprenticeship from the bottom and work your way to the top. But one thing for sure your salary won’t be as high as those who do show proof of an diploma/degree, from those who don’t show any proof of any such college
